Google glass is the 3D TV of computing.

You look ugly in those glasses. That's not my opinion; it's right here on your fact sheet. They said on everyone else they looked fine, but on you, they looked hideous. But still what does an old engineer know about fashion? Oh, wait, it's a she. Still, what does she know about - oh, wait. She has a medical degree. In fashion. From France.

bronyaur1: Google glass is the 3D TV of computing.

I think it's more like the Apple Newton of wearable computing. Yes, it's wrong on many levels right now, but it may die off only to be reborn in a few years when the right technology makes it less obtrusive.

I don't think 3D "TV" is going to be a thing until we have wall-sized, 3D, immersive experiences like ST:TNG's holodeck.

I don't think it's going to be a "thing" until you don't need to wear glasses anymore.  Very often, I am doing other things at the same time that I am watching tv,, and having to wear glasses interferes with those other activities I'm doing.

Maybe. But it shouldn't be hard to make it work, if that's Sergey Brin really wants. You don't even need any apps for it. You just have to get a few dozen of the Davos crowd to wear them, and every bootlicking meatball in America will need a pair. Maybe pay Forbes to run a serious analysis about how it's a required accessory for the successful business man. Just write the thing yourself. Those whores can't write worth shiat.
The modern tool on the rise still wears a tie, for chrissakes. He'll gladly swap that out for Google Glass, but someone needs to tell him what to do.
Of course, you can't just pay someone like Bill Gates to wear a pair. You need to do something else, like maybe point out how what a funny joke it will be. Old white men love a good joke, as long as it's on someone else.

This. It's also a pain to wear those 3D glasses over your regular glasses (if you wear glasses).

Jeez, my Spy Peepers 512kb video glasses look better than that piece of cow manure... Now who has any vid clips of those models changing before the show? and no wieners, nor flat chested bean pole French babes...

Just give them to old people, and tell them they can record all the kids doing bad things for the cops. David Brin predicted it.

Why stick with the glasses motif?  Go full-on Garrus' eyepiece from Mass Effect.  THAT I'd buy.

Not to get OT but the problem with "3D" in general, despite what James Cameron has to say, is that it's the same basic technology as it was in the 1950s. It's two 2D images on top of each other. It's a pop-up book. It's a ViewMaster. It's not 3D.

A pop up book is 3d

I still prefer my joo-janta 200 super-chromatic peril-sensitive sunglasses.

They're way more chic than this.
