The coupon business is slowly evolving into customer loyalty programs. And frankly, it's long past time for certain whisky companies to figure out just what a big shot I am and start sending me branded swag every Christmas.

NeoCortex42: Hell with coupons.  Bring back Reader!

It's gone and RSS is dead.

It's a never was technology that was nothing more than a bastard XML files, that site developers never knew how to implement properly, application developers never integrated correctly (live bookmarks? farking stupid), and users just never cared about.

We who did know were the few. Regardless of how strongly we feel about it or how much we used it, we are still tremendously in the minority. Apple dropped RSS from Mail, Google killed Reader, and Mozilla did everything they could to bury feed detection/tools in Firefox. RSS is farking dead. It was never alive.

The alternative is social, because both users and content providers have found it easier to use. Get with the times, old man.

Apple's RSS Screen Saver from older versions of Mac OS X was pretty darn cool, though.

My understanding was that the offer was only valid if there were no surprises in Groupon's books, and after Google actually saw them, it was Google who ran away screaming.

You need to do some research online.  A lot of them do this, if you're a big enough alcoholic.  I get quite a few presents every year! :)
