Hey, all the Pacers have to do is get the refs to bench LeBron for most of the game, double up the Heat in FTs, and they'll have a chance at another 3-point win. Except this time they're on the road, so it's a bit less likely.

Not going to happen at home. I will say he got jobbed last game. This year the refs have been better but that was embarrassing last game.

Tonight the Heat close it out.

Lebron might go for 75 tonight and then eyefark Stephenson off the court.

hmm, someone changed my headline or mods missed the (bad) joke I was making or correctly removed said bad joke

I have to ask, but were the fouls called on LeBron not fouls? or just questionable?  I saw a few that were clearly fouls.

I expect the Heat to win big and early. LeBron's points will be limited due to lack of playing time in the second half.

Pacers also pick up 2 techs

2 were fouls, but very minor and not normally called. The charge needed a whistle but could probably have gone to either player (in hindsight it was blocking, not a charge, but fouls aren't called upon review). The other 2 were complete phantom calls, likely caused by poor line of sight to the play

They were all technically fouls. Most would never be called on a star and many would be 50/50 calls.

If I wake up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I would tonight if the Pacers win.

Eh, the loose ball (4th or 5th) was a bit questionable as was the charge (3rd, iirc), but none of them were outright bad calls.

Or a very bizarre set of measurements.

Going 58 in a 55 zone is clearly speeding... but if you got a ticket you'd wonder why the cop was bothering with it. That's what most of the fouls were.

/generally a Pistons fan, only interested to see if dynasties are still realistic in 21st century major professional sports.

Bosh's HOF case is going to rest on two things: the total breadth of his career, and rings. One playoff game isn't going to do anything to change it one way or the other. If he continues hitting floor-spacing midrange shots into his late thirties, and gets to four rings (as a key team member, not a ring-chasing bench guy) then I think he's in.

I'm not sure he goes for a double double tonight. I feel like the Heat will have it in hand early enough for him to have something more like 31/7/6/3 with lots of rest, but he could go Celtics Game 6 just to make up for his fouls in Game 5.

I'm hoping for the best, that the Pacers will pull off a win.

Right now thoughy mood is all 'blah' and just.... Ugh. Still at work so that isn't helping.

So hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

Larry Bird doesn't like when Stephenson gives players blowjobs on the court.

All that work for a Wade three?

You know what, I retract what I said earlier. James looks like he's going full Celtics Game 6 mode right now.

I'm thinking Birdman is going to punch Stephenson before the end of the night.

Win, lose, or draw, Stephenson is already going to get his ass royally chewed out for the boneheaded stuff he's done so far tonight. Bird took umbrage to the stuff he was doing last game, too.

2014-05-30 09:02:51 PM
I think we all say that block coming.

2014-05-30 09:03:26 PM
Yeah, LeBron isn't going for the pump fake on a two foot stop like that.

Stephenson's antics are going to get him a kick in the nuts here soon.

13 point quarter for the Pacers. Fugly considering the start they had.

2014-05-30 09:06:10 PM
LeBron is in LeBron-is-not-farking-around mode. Even if Good Lance and Good Roy both show up, I don't think the Pacers are winning this one.

2014-05-30 09:07:13 PM
Does it look to anyone else that some Pacer is grabbing Heat players away from the ball and pulling them down?

dj_spanmaster: Does it look to anyone else that some Pacer is grabbing Heat players away from the ball and pulling them down?

George Hill just did it to Birdman on the offensive end.  And, I believe the possession before, Hibbert did it to Battier. I don't know if it has happened other than that.

2014-05-30 09:09:51 PM
13?  Oh geez.

Andersen came to ball. 6 rebounds already.

The Heat are winging the ball around like they've practiced for this game.

Ok, coincidences do happen. If we see it much more though, it will be a serious pattern.

They did. Spoelstra didn't give them yesterday off.

The thigh injury has turned Birdman in to Willis Reed.

Stephenson, you aren't getting a god damn thing from the refs tonight with what you've already done. And doing that little stare down asking for a charge call is not going to help your case one bit.
