Definately a whole lotta not news here. Republican from the south trains kids on how to use guns. Is that how easy it is to get a Friday greenlight around here?

2014-05-30 10:30:07 PM
Very not news. Having guns don't change how people are. Assholes with guns are still assholes, good people with guns are still good. Now using your family for political gain, I find that far more despicable. Exploiting your children shouldn't help you get or keep your job.

2014-05-30 10:40:47 PM
Why would you do that?

2014-05-30 10:42:49 PM

How about a picture of him and his family on a Stairmaster...

2014-05-30 10:51:28 PM
My grandfather gave me my first gun at 10. And I still consider myself an "outdoor person".

Mainly because I prefer to drink my beer on the porch, not really sure what guns have to do with that.

FETISH.

2014-05-30 10:57:03 PM
I guess I just don't understand the gun fetish.

One of my handlers once told me, we don't choose our fetish, our fetish chooses us.

Good on this guy if he's of the responsible gun owner type.  If not, I guess he's just an attention whore.

When did "loving the outdoors" become synonymous with shooting everything in it?

He looks like the little Cartman-like piggy kid who got picked on, and decided he would fall in love with guns to get people to take him more seriously.

Considering he's a Republican, the Cartman comparison is probably spot-on.

I own guns and I'm not outdoorsy at all.  Nine years of mandatory camping for the Army beat that right the fug out of me.  Truly, we are the ying and yang of Fark.

Two things.

Outdoorsmen use AR-15s now?

Has the government ever dictated where kids go to school? If you're in a public school, there's specific locations, but parents can always choose private or home schooling, so why is this an issue?

The annoying thing is that I'll bet he's a decent dude and a good dad, but this crap just makes him look like another idiot that has no idea what he's doing or talking about.

The platform is common, somewhat modular, and easy to maintain, so yes.

Admittedly I've never used one loaded for something like deer, but for basic outdoors/property maintenance stuff I used to use one for killing skunks and so on.  They're up there with the Ruger 10/22 as a ubiquitous small-caliber rifle.

// And you  can refit them as a deer gun, I just never have.

It might imply they all can read. But posing with identifiable bibles leads to the problem of having the right version.

Nothing is saying that he's training them (and from the increased stories of little Kenny accidentally making his share of the will just a little bit bigger, I wouldn't hold out on that).

At what age in souther redneck gun training does a youngin graduate from "point a gun at my sister's head" to "hold my beer and watch this"? 7 or 8?

I took both my boys to hunter's safety class (and set with them and took the test along with them even though I already had it) and took them hunting.  I figured it would be better to do it with them than just to send them.  We always had guns and always had them locked and I was the only one with a key.  I don't have any pictures of me holding guns, although I do have one of my boys holding theirs as they were going out with me hunting.  I guess I better not run for congress because that would make me a bad person?

I don't think that's the takeaway from this.  It's wearing your guns on your sleeve.

Which makes me think, can you get a holster that actually attaches to your sleeve?  How convenient would that be anyway?  Or could you just have "sleeve guns" -- sort of like having tickets to the gun show.

/would enjoy hunter's safety class w/ my kids if I had kids

If I were a family man running for Congress, I'd publish an image of my children wielding knives and nunchucks. Our killing would be personal, not like that wussy "protect yourself from 20 yards away" the N.R.A. endorses.

2014-05-31 12:52:51 AM
Yeah, not too much "outdoors" in that family, I'm guessing.

Not much more than drinkin' beer on the back porch with cousin Cletus, looks like. They're way too pasty and pudgy for much else.

Yeah, it was fun.  Also have the memories and one son passed several years ago and they can take anything I have but they can't take that.

Well, except for TFA, right?

"He emphasized the family's guns are kept locked in a safe and safety around guns is taught to the children early."

On my phone, so I can't bold, underline, italicize and make bigger the part about how he teaches the kids gun safety at an early age, but now that I've pointed it out, it should be easier to spot.

No, it looks like a 2 dimensional picture that is missing the 3rd dimension called 'depth' from that picture, he could be pointing it anywhere else on that side, and you wouldn't be able to tell.

This makes no sense. Are you saying that AR-15s are automatic weapons? Or are you saying that when your grandpappy took you out shooting, you carried a single bullet each, fired it, and went home?

Or are you just making shiat up to sound cool for the big kids?
