Thank you kindly. I'm torn, I submitted the other one too

/I wasn't sure this version would work

also, in case the other one loses to this one:

Well I can't say I'm terribly surprised, but I was hoping he'd stay to try and fix this and *then* resign

Shinsacked? Yeah, that one was pretty good but this is better and doesn't link to Fox "News".

did you really downvote the other one simply because it was a fox link? Really? :P

thisdaydreamer: Shinsacked?

yes

I dunno, I'm torn. I liked both. I guess this works because Shinseki also said that heads will roll at the VA (prior to his resignation)

What a concept. I think Congress is more likely to spend millions in hearings, instead, all the while waving the flag for our veterans.

This must be the thread where we comment about how the other story running shouldn't have been run because FOX.

The other thread is where the Obamanians and Derpsters argue over the VA scandal.

Actually, they'll spend that money focusing and holding hearings on the REAL problem: BENGHAZI!

There, all better!  :)

2014-05-30 12:38:53 PM
No. He resigned...

President Obama didn't fire him. Get it right, subby.

2014-05-30 12:39:15 PM
The implication here is that getting rid of the head will fix the problem though. He was absolutely not the problem. The VA health system is what it is because of the continued cuts, restrictions, and compromises that have been made to it over the years. That's not going to stop. Especially with Republicans who will 1) Likely hold up ANY replacement nominations, and 2) Continue to privatize and squeeze every last dime out of the system to put in the pocket of some campaign donor.

Because hiring vets has worked so well in the past? How about we just hire a competent person this time irregardless of their veteran status.

There must be at least one qualified hospital administrator with military experience or extensive experience with wartime maladies.

How about this? A competent vet. I think their insight would prove valuable in shaping up this joke of an agency. Or at least making it not a complete abysmal failure to the people that volunteer to fight and potentially die for their country

I like how the same people that voted for the Iraq and Afghanistan war, the GWOT, and funded it all now refuse to fund the VA while they cut taxes then point fingers at some bureaucrat who couldn't possibly fix the VA with what he has. He can't just conjure up more doctors with no additional money.

As you know, you go to war with the VA you have, not the VA you might want or wish to have at a later time.

As a consolation prize, he gets a lifetime supply of black berets!

Because nothing says "I want to dilute the cachet of elite forces by making everybody in the Army look *FRENCH*" like making everyone wear perhaps the least practical headgear ever invented.

Brimmed caps are practical:  They keep the sun and rain out of your eyes.  Berets are just spineless pieces of cloth.

Thing is the VA doesn't need a hosital andmistrator. The VA isn't a hospital.  It's a huge bureacracy.  It needs a huge bureacrate.

He can't make clones? "[Obama] praised Shinseki's service as a soldier 'who left part of himself on the battlefield,'" See, right there is plenty of DNA material to get started.

When barry was treading water in the Senate he knew about the problems in the VA, he preached about the problems AND he did nothing. In 2007 he promised veterans that he would fix the problems in the VA. In 2008 barry was informed of the problems, specifically the wait times, he asked for and sent some money to the VA. A good leader would've made sure that the problems he knew about, preached about and promised to fix would've been fixed. barry instead chose to focus on his dopey obamacare folly. Several times, obama said the VA was a good example of Govt healthcare. In the middle of 2014 the democrats chief propaganda minister says barry learned about the problems in the news.
Thank you Fox News for starting the reporting on this way back in 2013. As a veteran it means a lot that finally obama, after being backed into a corner by his own failures again, is addressing this problem. It's as if Fox News has to do the actual reporting in America and eventually the rest of the journalists will catch on after they realize how important these stories are. I just wish the obamorons in the media would pay a little more attention to the stories Fox News is reporting on because according to jay carney, despite being the President having the best intell in the world, that's how barry learns about problems in America. By reading the paper.
