jasonvatch: 7 out of 10 - and I only recognized "Stranger"

Same here, plus "2001" and "War of the Worlds". I simply guessed wrong about "1984", never heard of "The Day of the Triffids", and probably subconsciously got "Ender's Game" wrong on purpose because I always hated that story.

9/10 - got Day of the Triffids wrong.  In my defines, it does look remarkably like the copy of The Time Machine I read in Grade 8.

What do I win?
Also, I've read most of those books.

Same here, though I think in my case I mis-clicked.

7 of 10.  All books I hadn't read.  Plus, some where guesses because different editions of books often have different covers.

8 of 10.  The only one I knew for sure was Stranger in a Strange Land.  A few were pretty obvious, like Fahrenheit 451.  Most if the ones that I guessed and got right were from the movie adaptations, like War of the Worlds and I-Robot.

I still have a few paperbacks with those covers.
The old Bradbury and Lovecraft collections from the 60s and 70s have some wicked art work.

2014-05-30 01:22:02 PM
9/10. Missed Day of the Triffids, which I've never read.

I own 7 of the others with those specific covers, so that helped.

Don't judge a book by its cover.  I'm not much of a man by the light of day.

That's the one I got wrong then, because I didn't answer Ender's Game

8 out of 10, and I've never read nor seen any of these books before.I've heard of a few of them, though.

I got that one right only because I at least knew the other 3, and the cover didn't match any of them.

2014-05-30 01:39:58 PM
9/10.  Missed "I, Robot".  It was my first guess, but I thought I remembered the cover looking differently ... was probably a later edition.

I got 8/10.

7/10.

But then, i mostly read the german translations ... different publishing company, different covers...

8/10.  I wouldn't have recognized most if I hadn't received someone's collection as a gift.  There were many of the older covers in the quiz.

Found it, and it was Ender's Game.

It was #5. I've only ever seen the movie "Day of the Triffids."

Janette Scott was so fine.

8-10. I missed The Day of the Triffids and 1984.

10 out of 10. What do I win besides social isolation?

I got lucky on Day of the Triffids. It looked a lot like a Time Machine cover I saw once.

2014-05-30 01:54:06 PM
9/10. Two solid known (Ender's and Stranger). Most of the rest can be easily deduced from the covers if you have some idea of what the story is about.

7/10, and I'm kind of amused that no one's admitted to a lower score than that yet.

I'll check back later to laugh at whoever accidentally trips the "I'm Pregnant" Fark filter

9 out of 10 but I owned several of the books with the covers in question it doesn;t show me but I think I got the I Robot cover wrong thinking it was Do androids dream for some reason

2014-05-30 02:05:01 PM
6 out of 10. And I just guessed a few.

Those would have been older covers. I've read most of those books, and don't remember any of the covers looking like those.

2014-05-30 02:07:08 PM
Also the ones I got right was more from elimination than knowledge.

Great work! You know your way around many universes.

I own all but three of those, with those covers, so it wasn't extremely difficult.

Four, maybe more by now since that seems to be stumping so many people. In my defense* I actually had that picked at first before I decided on the one I thought was safer.

* or maybe it just shows I have terrible judgment.
