At least a dangerous drug dealer is off the streets and now parents and thus the world is safer for the children who survive cops.

I guess the family didn't have any dogs to shoot, so they had to settle for this.

Yup, these days you have to assume that cops are going to make a gaudy display of grossly disproportionate force and act with extraordinary recklessness, assuming that no one gives a shiat about the people that have already been convicted in the public eye simply by virtue of their having been arrested.

What, they couldn't find a pet to blow away, so they grenaded a toddler instead?

It's time to destroy "law enforcement" in the U.S. and replace them with British bobbys.

And by destroy I mean: make them poor and homeless

fark them.

Why are we executing search warrants by blowing in the door and launching stun grenades?  What happened to knocking and informing the residents that you have a search warrant?

Someone needs to send this to every judge in the country. There shouldn't be no knock warrants. They shouldn't even have stun grenades.

This is so the biggest part of what has turned out police force into a worthless gang of para-military mafia strongmen.  Civil forfeiture laws have to be scrapped and re-thought.  No community should ever directly profit from the actions of their police force. The conflict of interest is so glaringly obvious, it is laughable that anybody can support these laws with any integrity.

If you are going to allow civil forfeiture, the funds/items should be transferred to the federal government for distribution. Drug seizures, speed traps, traffic cameras and any other law based revenue streams are only pathways for corruption and greed.  There is little in these to do with safety, and everything to do with buying the dirty cops a new assault riffle to look tough or a over powered dodge Charger so they can run red lights and speed when there aren't any emergency calls.

I do like the right wing attitude - "Government can do no right and should be abolished, apart from the police and military that can do no wrong, even if they are torturing people or throwing grenades at babies"

ruptured eardrums, let's not forget that.  Though it may be possible to fix them, that's a lot of surgery for a baby.

Well, they saved that kid from ever having to see or hear their parents smoke demon weed (or anything else). The kid can still smell, so the cops will just have to settle for two out of three.

And don't be at the wrong address when the cops come to the wrong address.  Don't carry cash either, because that they can simply take from you.  And be sure to bow and scrape and grovel when they walk by, and lick their boots if they'll let you.

Because People in power are Stupid: What was the purpose of conducting the arrest at 3 AM? I mean why couldn't they just beat up the toddler during the daytime.

The cops conduct raids in the early morning hours because the suspects will be asleep and disoriented as they wake up. Of course, if you shoot a cop during one of these raids, you will be charged with murder because they expect you to be alert and clear-headed enough to know exactly what you're shooting at during one of these raids.

I love how people love to blame cops for everything.  I guess the family bears no responsibility right?  Let's see, this one gets a lot of play "The cops should look in before throwing the grenade"  You know, I bet they used to back in the day until someone got shot in the face because they were looking before throwing the grenade.

I get that she was staying with relatives, but you mean to tell me she had no idea her in-laws were dealing drugs?  I don't believe that for a second.  Did the kid deserve it, nope, but she put her kid in a dangerous location.  I ask you, if thugs broke in to steal drugs and beat her and her kid got shot in the process I guess you absolve her of all responsibility as well.

I say this as a parent of two who would make damn sure my kids aren't sleeping in the same house as a drug dealer family or not.

Remember when the cops would wait for the target to go to the store and then pull him over instead of kitting up like they were with SEAL Team 6 and start kicking down doors to the right or wrong addresses?

F**k the gestapo style, no-knock assault warrants. Dead, maimed and traumatized children, numerous pets killed, and too often at the wrong address based on dubious tips from paid "informants". How about we stop worrying so much about the Second Amendment and start paying attention to the Fourth?

/no, it doesn't need to be both equally, the Second is very secure for now, imo

FTA " staying with her sister-in-law in Habersham County after her family's home burned down"

So, by your logic, if you were staying at someone else's place and your kid got blown up there, it's all cool right?

Also FTA "officers involved in the raid felt badly about the boy's injuries"

Oh, fark you scumbags.

And don't accept any aid from someone if your house burns down who may not maintain your high standards themselves.

So, they safely searched and seized drugs from the home... then came BACK at 3 AM for a no knock to arrest the owner (doesn't that lose the element of surprise that is the main reason for no knock, and why no knock if the first time a regular search was fine?  They already seized the evidence, so it isn't to prevent flushing it or something...), somehow didn't know there was a crib there on the second trip to the house, and that two families were there, and threw a stun grenade through the door blindly?

Wikipedia's entry is quite telling:

Cornelia abounds in historical lore. Near the city is the Wofford Trail [5], upon which many a stagecoach robbery occurred. The last railroad holdup in Georgia took place at Cagle's Crossing, which is a few miles south of Cornelia. The whole of Habersham County was extremely loyal to the Confederacy and was known, along with the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and countless other fertile, out-of-the-way places as the "breadbasket of the Confederacy", as thousands of bushels of wheat and corn were supplied to the troops from this area alone. After the fall of Atlanta, a detachment of Sherman's cavalry was sent to raid the county; but the Confederate Home Guard, made up of men too old for military duty, left the mountains on which Cornelia is situated and met the Yankee raiders at a narrow pass about four miles east of the town. By making considerable noise and stirring up clouds of smoke, they scared off the enemy and saved the area from complete devastation.
