(DNA Info)   Things have gotten so bad for '80s pop singer Lisa Lisa that she is reduced to headlining fundraisers at elementary schools. Just kidding, she does it for fun and all money raised goes to help support programs at the elementary school   (dnainfo.com) divider line 64

Good to hear she's not broke or anything... Way too many musical acts get hosed by the industry or a shady manager/agent. Especially when they only have a few hits and don't have a large catalog. That's no guarantee either, as evidenced by the girls in TLC.

She was on the second or even third string back in the day (around 87-89). First string was Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Whitney, Janet Jackson maybe.  Second string was Belinda Carlisle, Sheena Easton, Laura Branigan etc., they all had pretty big followings. Third string was Jody Watley and Lisa Lisa, Watley was exotic looking and Lisa x2 had big tits.

How the hell does anyone stand listening to terrestrial radio anymore?

The "classic rock" station here has a sprawling repertoire of maybe 30 unique songs a week. Between that and the grating commercials, I honestly don't get how anyone can listen it.

I have a theory that stupid people fear silence. Personally I'd rather listen to nothing than hear "Life In The Fast Lane" for the 3rd time in a day.

My younger brother had a huge crush on Stacey Q during that era. Mom took him and a friend to her closest show, The Jets opening. He danced in front of the stage (he was the only one dancing), and she invited him backstage after the show. He chatted with her awhile and got her autograph. He was so happy that he cried.

Woman of a thousand faces,* she is.

Most character actors are, "you know,  that guy" whose been on every TV show and in countless movies. But not her, nope. Always different, totally different. Alfred Molina's characters are pretty diverse too, but not like Jenette Golstein. From white trash with poor skin to pale Irish aristocrat, to dark Mexican Marine, to haggard old hotel cleaning lady, to vampire vampire, she's damn near unrecognisable every time.

*1,000 faces + 2 giant flesh pillows.
