Well, falling out of the car on the highway was worthy of hospitalization, but falling out of the car on the highway if you aren't under the age of 20 should be a red flag in and of itself.

The article says paramedics treated him at his home for four hours before taking him to the hospital. I guess they couldn't coax the gerbil out, so they opted for surgery.
