Why should anyone care what some hate group directs its bigots to do, so long as they aren't out actually assaulting anyone for once?

Fair, but to be honest I want the Republican party to collapse and disband entirely. Since all the members of the AFA are Republicans, but not all Republicans are members of the AFA (largely because it is probably too hard to spell), the new parties formed after that schism will not have similar leverage over the national conversation or legislation.

Honestly--If a CEO of Mozilla can be made to resign, then the AFA can be put out of business.

They, the AFA, only sell to their own supporters. They're incapable of shame, the very thing that put the Mozilla guy out.

The more you point at their bigotry and say "that, that right there is actual, real and properly defined bigotry" the more they rally around that.

Best to just plow them under with heavy equipment.

Or use them to destroy the Republican party, thus breaking up the power base and support the extreme right-wing have built up over the last few decades, marginalizing their entire philosophy and subjugating them to the dustbin of history, a sort of dark ages in American history we'll use to teach as a warning in a few generations.

The Tea Party did a great job of being a vocal, bigoted minority that the rest of the GOP, for some reason, followed along.  I'm not sure more of these extremely vocal bigoted groups will help.

The thing is, many of them hate everyone not just like them. The quest for ideological purity in the right-wing has started a rift. Teabaggers arguing with preachy types, no-taxers against small-taxers.

I think that adding more completely extreme and uncompromising voices to the leadership will do the job. They're pretty much there already, just need a small flashpoint, like losing congress or the next Presidential election.

One can only hope; we need these nuts out of Congress so the country can get back to some semblance of business.

Well, also the job of the CEO of Mozilla is to sell a product. The job of the CEO of the AFA is to generate publicity for their cause.

Takes too long. I suggest moving immediately to the promised death panels and FEMA concentration camps that they are so frightened are going to happen anyway

They'd probably lick it because most of the Teabaggers are too damn stupid to realize that most stamps these days are peel-and-stick.

/At least they still were at Christmas, which was the last time I bought stamps.

I'd be willing to bet that, if you asked AFA members to describe who Harvey Milk was, without any prompting from the organization, 95% of them would be unable to do so.

I get the AFA's two newsletters (one for lay members, one for pastors) just for the lulz, and those guys are absolute loons. If you think their public face is bad, you should see the "members-only" stuff they put out; screed after breathless screed about the latest islamo-commie anti-American companiy to openly embrace the Godless Homo Agenda, and exactly which products you should buy (or refuse to) in order to thwart them. Also, tons of conveniently pre-formatted emails to send to CEO's, advertisers, Congresscritters, etc. to register your own personal displeasure.

Republicans first reaction to anything, literally anything is to take the exact opposite position of what Democrats or liberals think. That is why you have Republicans saying torture is good, rape is not that bad, people having healthcare is like Hitler, government programs are like slavery.  They can't help themselves it's like when the doctor hits you in the knee with his little hammer.  The Republicans occasionally stake out some rather poor positions, but they just cant help it.  If Democrats think it's bad the Republican mind automatically thinks it must be awesome.

One of the comedians on Sirius the other day said that Obama should come out and pro-gun, pro-life and anti-gay everything and watch the fun... I imagine it would be such a big flip flop from the Right that we would witness an extinction event. The earth's crust couldn't take the shock.
