Police found  ... various machine gun and handgun magazines

No they didn't. Based off the photo, those are just AR mags. Nothing to do with machine guns.

I'm strongly agreeing with the mentally ill part, as he had 24 magazines for a gun he wasn't even carrying. At least it was "trying to help in a weird way" crazy and not "trying to kill people" crazy. Now, lets see how the New York pigs deal with it: get him the help he needs, or make him worse.

If they can carry the 5 tons of heat sinks an assault laser needs, I don't think a puny law is going to stop them.

. She says he has a history of mental illness.

Is that before, or after the Marines?

I know the guy is coo-coo for coca-puffs, but at age 27, how does he feel responsible for letting 9/11 happen when he was still school age?

2014-05-29 02:16:04 PM
He was felt guilty for allowing 9/11 to happen, and he was trying to protect NY with a shotgun?
Yep, crazy.  No more guns for you sir.

Also, how did he manage to get so much Marine core property?  TFA says that the contents of the bag were US Marine core soldier's stuff.  Are you just allowed to borrow it?  Lend/lease?

A Marine was riding the subway in NYC late at night.  He was in town to see the place where our last TRUE commander-in-chief George W. Bush told the terrorists on 9/11 to "bring it on because we'll smoke you out of your holes!"

As he rode through the decaying urban jungle that is Manhattan, he cooly and calmly read the best newspaper in town - The New York Post.  Suddenly, two punks came on the train and walked toward him.  One brandished a knife and cut right through the paper as he read it.  The Marine showed no fear in his face and stared down the curly-haired, slight man who probably got that way from never combining meat with dairy at the same time.  The Marine quickly pulled out his weapon and slayed the sneaky punk in one shot!

The other punk, the THUG looking one, ran off.  This guy was really fast just like all of them, but the Marine through his training and belief in God was able to corner this punk too and put him down like he deserved - a THUG savage animal with a heart blacker than Africa!

All of the New Yorkers cheered because someone had finally stood up to famous Democrat Party mayor, gun grabber, soda stealer, and cigarette seizer Michael Bloomberg.

They all got guns and went to Times Square for the first time in their live - a place they had always wanted to go but could not because of all the crime and drugs there.

Personally, I would never go to New York.  It's the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark, looking like you're riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair next to some queer with AIDS right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing.  The biggest thing I don't like about New York are the foreigners. I'm not a very big fan of foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get in this country?

I thought there was no such thing as a former Marine.  And noting his state of mental illness may be redundant.

That's what I thought too.  Then I read further on and saw that it was a laser pointer for the shotgun.  Then I thought, "Why the hell do you need a laser pointer for a shotgun?!  They are hardly accurate weapons to begin with."

Ya don' get out much, do ya? The marines give ya your first uniforms (dress/utility), then you buy replacements, so that's easy. Everybody's got several uniforms that they own. the weapons are harder. but in a large organization, things drop through the cracks easily, and you can lift a buddy's if it's high-priced. in three tours, you can get lots of dropped items...and several of the other side's as well. Look how much WWII Jap stuff came home.

Slugs come to mind....  But lasers are also good if you've got a pistol grip shotgun; you can "point and shoot" from the hip.  And while shotguns do have a spread, they hardly clear a room from the doorway.  You just have a larger potential area hit than a single point.

Seriously.  He would have been a freshman in high school, tops.  But even IF that is the case, how does he think a shotgun will protect an entire city?

Well, let's just hope he gets the help he needs before he hurts himself, or worse yet, someone else.

Seeing this crap with the VA hospitals on the news doesn't give me much hope for that.
It's pretty farked up that this country is hell bent on sending people into combat for no reason at all, and then refuses to take care of them afteward.

Yup. There are a ton of war bring back machine guns out there worth big $$$. Tanks, cars, planes, shiat if you had the money to ship there wasn't much restriction. You could still buy explosives at the hardware store back then and machine guns only needed a tax stamp. Different more fun times in some ways.

Or some 'banger sees a shotgun, which is unloaded, and decides to be rid of the problem before it becomes one. Self-fulfilling panic, as it were.

I know a MArine that did three tours in A-stan and saw many of his closest friends die in violent and ugly ways.  His head is totally jacked.  So, the answer is this:  He's nuts.

After three tours in Iraq I'm sure he built up quite the collection of stuff.  The Marine I mentioned above had a ton of stuff, like a few kevlar helmets, a ton of magazines, and all sorts of other crap.  The only thing in TFA that got my attention was he still had some radios.  Can't say I'm very surprised though.

That is what I was thinking too. It was unloaded and encased in a duffel bag. Besides this, didn't Uncle Joe Biden tell us to go out and buy a shotgun?
