You expect 'em to build a NEW stadium? Nobody would show up. The Cubs suck. People come to see Wrigley Field. Remove that from the equation and you've got a last-place team in a ho-hum stadium. May as well go see the Sox...

Any Cubs fans here? Do the people who run the Cubs show any sign of embarrassment or shame at the job they are doing? Are they open about it, in denial, or just don't care?

They're really, really behind you around here...my f*ckin' ass. What the f*ck am I supposed to do, go out there and let my f*ckin' players get destroyed every day and be quiet about it? For the f*ckin' nickel-dime people who turn up? The motherf*ckers don't even work. That's why they're out at the f*ckin' game. They oughta go out and get a f*ckin' job and find out what it's like to go out and earn a f*ckin' living. Eighty-five percent of the f*ckin' world is working. The other fifteen percent come out here. A f*ckin' playground for the cocks*ckers. Rip them motherf*ckers. Rip them f*ckin' cocks*ckers like the f*ckin' players. We got guys bustin' their f*ckin' ass, and them f*ckin' people boo. And that's the Cubs? My f*ckin' ass. They talk about the great f*ckin' support the players get around here. I haven't see it this f*ckin' year. Everybody associated with this organization have been winners their whole f*ckin' life. Everybody. And the credit is not given in that respect.  Alright, they don't show because we're 5 and 14...and unfortunately, that's the criteria of them dumb fifteen motherf*ckin' percent that come out to day baseball. The other eighty-five percent are earning a living

The bleacher extension is a small part of the issue. The big concern is the fact that chunks of concrete have been falling out of the stadium for several years now. The stadium hasn't been structurally overhauled since 1971, and there are still issues with chemicals in the concrete leeching out and corroding the steel framework. Whether or not you can sell rooftop tickets across the street from the park is a moot point if part of the park collapses.

They're rebuilding.  I don't like that it's apparently a 6 (plus?) year plan, but their farm system is pretty sick right now and only expected to get better, though it's much better on the position player than pitching side.  If they're still shiatty in 2018, then I will be beyond pissed.

LemSkroob: Alright, they don't show because we're 5 and 14

that's the true comedy in that rant.  that wasn't in September after a heartbreaking one-game playoff tiebreaker, or after winning 95 games but missing the playoffs, or any other scenario where at the end of the season, the manager goes off.  that was farking April when that shiat went down.  that' what is so funny about that.  they still had 140 games left.  what we talkin' about, man?  5 and 14?  c'mon man.  5-14?  what we talkin' 'bout?  5-14!

I chuckled so hard, somewhere Kerry Wood and Mark Prior had to go on the 15-day DL.

Manny and this within the same week.  Do you think Epstein is feeling pressured to distract fans?
What's next...  Will they trade Samardzija to a contender for a bag of crap prospects?

Love Wrigley, but have never seen a game from a rooftop. Looks like I'd better go this year or next.

Considering the way the league has gone in the last 3-4 years or so, I look back on those Cubs as being pioneers in the category of having both of your ace pitchers decimated by arm injuries in one fell swoop. Brandon Beachy, Matt Harvey, and Jose Fernandez all benefit from the devolution of pitching mechanics and rise of pitcher abuse as pioneered by the Cubs.

/I really hope the league has clones of Dr. James Andrews

Considering what they got for Matt farking Garza last year, I am confident in Jed & Theo's ability to empty the farm systems of some contenders for Shark. Hopefully those systems have top pitching prospects.

I was highly unimpressed with the calibre of Cub 'fan' that showed up in Seattle. Christ, what a bunch of assholes.

And FWIW, I usually enjoy visiting with out of town fans that decide to come out here and visit.
