i'm sure the GOP is breathing a sigh of relief, since they still have bundy's racist stink all over them.

Hannity was ready to ask him to the prom...

I wonder how much the GOP had to pay him for this stunt.

2014-05-27 02:27:51 PM
Now I have to stop being an independant.

Wait, I thought he was a Republican hero until he started spouting racist bullshiat, then it turned out he was a Democrat.

I'm surprised he wasn't already.  Most Republicans don't realize that registering as an independent just means that you can't vote in the primaries.  It doesn't mean that you are non-partisan or independent minded or anything like that.

Oh, nice; a greenlit thread.

The "Independent American Party" look like the sort of shining gems that consider the Constitution Party too bleeding-heart liberal, never mind the GOP. Or maybe it's just some Mormon flavoring; hard to tell from a web-eye view.

Whoops -- Wikipedia seems to think the Nevada group may just be a branch of the Constitution party.

Both sides are bad.

Go independent!

2014-05-27 02:57:22 PM
Not "an Independent."  Not even a FarkIndependentTM.  No, let's actually RTFA:

The Associated Press reported that Bundy and his wife Carol signed registration forms on Friday night to switch their affiliation from the Republican Party to the Independent American Party.

So he's not an "independent," but rather, he's a member of a political party, the American Independent Party. (See, it even has "Party" in the name, Subby!)  The American Independent Part is the political party that makes even the GOP look like a bunch of Kumbaya-singing hippie commie libtards by comparison.

Actually, now that I read that, it's apparently the "Independent American Party," not the "American Independent Party."  Which is a different organization, I guess--sort of like Judean People's Front versus those splitters from the People's Front of Judea.  Still not an "independent," though.

Whoa, there. As an actual independent (so registered since I first registered to vote in the '90s) I do NOT want to be associated with this assclown.

Their platform is delicious:

4. Unalienable Rights We believe that God has endowed men with certain unalienable rights, such as life, liberty and property; that these rights are guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; and that it is the primary duty of government to protect these rights.

"Life, Liberty, and Property" were the three Rights espoused by Locke (in his 2nd Treatise, I believe), which eventually got distilled down to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" by Jefferson.

If the State where the person resides has open primaries, then that person can vote in the primaries.  As it stands, it burns me to hear State level politicians espouse how they "love freedom" but won't abolish the closed primary system in their State.

I think they're cribbing from the Declaration, saying that governments are instituted to protect those rights.

Not that I'm putting any more than a half-assed effort to dissect the political theories of some fringe loonies.

Yeah, just checked out the Independent American Party website.

Well, at least the good news is that this doesn't really taint Independents as a whole, since the point of being an Independent is not really adhering to a single Party ideology. This is one where you can live with the riff-raff only because the point is kinda to have abroad spectrum. I'm not making the farking piece of shiat any cookies though, that's for sure.

Lord_Baull: Yeah, just checked out the Independent American Party website.

I think that kind of defeats the purpose, at least for me it does. maybe I'm an outlier.
