Obama is Dubya on 'roids in many ways.  Sure, some social positions are different, but the policies  are still making Americans poor and take away our rights and freedoms. And he's been lying to everyone, just like George W. Bush(and his father H.W.).

I'm always amazed at how some people have the temerity to suggest that Obama is worse than Bush.

Hate him all you want. But Obama didn't mislead the country into a war that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis.

Hundreds of thousands. Dead.

Sorry, boys and girls, the president isn't stupid, this was done on purpose; the chief must have displeased the administration.

P.S. I don't care if you think the impossible is true, that they somehow let it slip their mind.

Put it to you this way: There are some things that people don't ever do unless it's on purpose, and when an organization obsessed with keeping things from you (the WH) lets that slip, it's on purpose.

Go on believing childish lies that they were dumb enough to let a major secret slip, on paper even where they knew what they were writing and definitely double-checked.

Everything from the Nixon-esque use of the IRS to target political enemies, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Holder's perjury, The VA scandal and now this. It's like he's flaunting the fact that he knows no one will hold him accountable for the same things that we would have held any other president accountable long ago.

I would only be half surprised if he ended up trying to get a beej in the Oval Office and leaking the facts about it, then lying to Congress in person just to get away with something Clinton was impeacher for.

You know we don't have troops in Ukraine, right?

Look, Obama has overseen the largest expansion of civil freedoms in 50 years with his actions on gay marriage.  He's in the process of ending 2 decade-long wars perpetrated by his predecessor.  He has over and over again achieved significant foriegn policy victories with diplomacy alone.  His signature domestic accomplishment has forever changed the nature of poverty in America, in that it no longer carries a death sentence.

If you really think Obama is "as bad as Bush" that's only because you're not paying attention.

the chief of station is almost always declared to the host government. the one in kabul is declared. there are many agents and officers of the cia that are declared and are known to their host government contacts. they work together and relay intelligence in both directions. the person in that position is a senior level (equivalent to SES/SFS) and there are only a few countries they could go to. In any country they go to...they would already be declared anyways.

declaring them to the rest of the world...not so much.

also, the headquarters of the cia is a known address is kabul. it's mentioned in ghost wars by stephen coll. it was somebody else's headquarters before theirs. sort of a symbolic FU. a simple google search will give a lot of news.

i worked in kabul for two years for the Embassy.

No, it's not quite EXACTLY THE SAME.  In 2006, a low level desk agent was outed by someone in the state department and democrats, including Sen. Obama, blamed the White House and demanded the appointment of a special prosecutor.  In this case, a real spy was outed and the White House really is to blame, and no special prosecutor will be appointed.  So those differences come to mind.

I doubt there is anyway any of this could ever be tied. directly or indirectly, to Obama.  I doubt any President reads 99% of White House releases.  But it appears he does have more than one incompetent person on his staff.

Now for a snarky comment:  If the news media doesn't report this, Obama will never know about it.

Actually, I see that it was ghare and not you that brought race into the mix, so there's that. I am just pointing out that maybe, sometimes, people see racism when it is not really present. I don't see where the original comment was about race so much as about the double standards applied to the current president and the former one. Again, who brought race to the table?

If the shoe fits...

So if I refer to Obama as a "person who annoys me", and you tell me that's racist, you're the real racist because you understood the obviously racist comment? That makes no sense.

How is "a person who annoys me" an obviously racist comment. So yes, if I shouted "racism!" Over that comment, I would be bringing race into a conversation where it did not exist. I believe that playing the race card anytime I don't agree with what is being said is a firm if racism.

I was referring to the south park n*ggers meme. Please, look that up and reply again.

If it was clear that that was the case, I can agree that that would be a racist statement. I still believe that in the context of the thread, the original "chimpski" comment was referring to the double standards used for Bush and president Obama, and that ghare was the one that brought race into the conversation.

Devil's Playground: Fart_Machine: Devil's Playground: ghare: mark12A: WHAR OBAMA CHIMPSKI PICS, WHAR????

Oh right, he isn't a Republican....

Which is why the leftist markist fascist nazi press didn't mention this. Only YOU and your team of hoverround commandoes know about it! This ONE SECRET the GOVERNMENT doesn't WANT YOU to KNOW!

/Also your racism was a nice touch. It's why rational people identify Republicans with racism.

Really? You're telling me you don't remember all the pictures of president Bush as a chimp? You see the word chimp(ski) and you associate that with a black person? Who's the racist here?

Are you really that ignorant not to know comparing black people to monkeys has been a racial slur for over a century?

Of course not, but using the context of this thread, I believe the original poster was referring to the bush/chimp pictures. You are the one that brought race into the conversation.

Turn about is fair play and all that.

Pointing out a historic fact is racism now. I'm the real racist. Got it.

I love watching the pros at work.  Never a misstep.

TheOther: I guess they need a new Chief of Station.

Obama will announce his choice for the new Chief of Station at a news conference Tuesday

Obama on Tuesday: "Oh dammit! Don't print his name, OK!

Obama on Wednesday: "OK, we're going call him "the new guy" and we're passing out a copy of his picture now....What?  Oh shiat!  Gimme those!"

Obama on Thursday: "I'm not saying nothing about nothing!  Good day!  And it's all your fault this happened with your stupid questions!  It's not my fault!"

He's right, back in the day comparing Bush to a chimpanzee and calling him Chimpy McFlightsuit was a big thing and not at all racist. So simmer down.

Well at least this time it was just outright stupidity rather than malice.

MusicMakeMyHeadPound: Great. So now Republicans are going to suddenly care about the White House outing CIA agents. I can't wait for all of the poorly done "Impeach 0maba" Facebook image macros...

/Thanks, Omaba

During the George W. Bush administration, the mainstream media was in a crazed state of obsession over the so-called "outing" of Valerie Plame, who many argue (including her own supervisor ) was outed by her own husband, Joe Wilson.

you can thank the Tea Party News Network for that tidbit. and btw that parenthetical part is wrong too.

"Chief of Station" in Kabul, a designation used by the CIA for its highest-ranking spy in a country.

No it isn't. He's a desk jockey, not a spy.

If he were a spy, he'd look like this:

Lol, guess who just got a job transfer to anywhere that's not Afghanistan.

I'm sure they've already started helping him (and his family) start getting packed and moving.
