The Spurs won't sweep. OKC wins at least one on home court.

If it comes own to El Heat vs San Antonio in the Finals, who will be favored?

/I believe that the Spurs should be favorites and if it wasn't for a last second shot by Allen, they would be looking to repeat.  The Spurs look fantastic this series.  I still think this OKC team could handle the Heat as well, but it will be difficult to get by the Spurs without a spark or Serge.

I'm really hoping for a Spurs/Heat rematch in the finals with all players healthy.  I'm honestly not sure which team is better and would love to see it settled on the court.  The Spurs certainly look a bit better right now but I think a lot of that is the ugliness of the Pacers/Heat games and that Miami is still toggling their on switch.

Took OKC -2.5 tonight.

Already regretting it.

Agreed.  After seeing the Heat comeback in both games 2 & 3, which Indiana could have certainly won, they still show the have the ability to play like champions.  Following this season, they should consider redo 2 or 3 of their contracts so they can sign another starter that can give Wade a rest.  I could see Bosh going some to a team which would give him more of a role...

For what it's worth - Las Vegas already has the Spurs favored to win it all.   But barely.  6/5 the Heat 5/7 the Spurs

Yeah, the big concern I have for Miami right now is I still haven't seen them play their A game for a full 4 quarters in the playoffs.  They won't be able to get away with that against the Spurs.  And I wouldn't be surprised either if Bosh goes away after this season to help them retool the roster.

Was that posted prior to the Conference Finals?  If so, I would have taken the Spurs, OKC, Heat then Indiana.

n0nthing:

If Philly could get another star to sign with them, he would be a good fit.  However teams like Dallas or San Antonio would be a great fit for him since the OKC, or the Clippers can't afford him.  Who knows what he wants?  He already has the rings and I'm sure he would like more, but playing in others shadows may not be his thing.

I figured the Thunder would take a couple at home, but the Spurs would easily clench the series.  With Ibaka back, that's a guarantee.  OKC gets quite a benefit playing at home.  Spurs fans look pretty jaded - they'll cheer, but I guess being in playoffs for nearly 2 decades kinda loses it's shine eventually.

I'd love nothing more than a rematch of last year in the Finals.  Game 6 broke my heart, but it was probably the best basketball game I've ever watched in full.

/Go Spurs

I'm thinking a lot of what happens is going to be determined by whether the Heat 3peat or not.  If they do the mere possibility of a 4peat is going to be damn near irresistible for Lebron/Wade/Bosh and I don't doubt they'd find plenty of other talent willing to sign cheap just to get a seat on the bus.

If they don't I wouldn't be surprised to see *major* changes to the Heat roster with the exception of Lebron/Wade.

And couldn't you just see that happening?  Carmelo finally getting to the point where he's like, "Screw it I don't care anymore I just want a damn ring."  That would be so simultaneously sad and hilarious.

Spurs down ten? No matter. If they can stay this close until the six minute mark, I'd still favor them.

Not for another couple of years, but we've seen it from plenty of guys once they get to 32.

What kills me about the Thunder is that if they lose one starter to injury, they seem to fall apart and take a while to get back. Hell, knock out Ibaka for two games and suddenly they look like the Milwaukee Bucks.

I just looked up an interesting stat as of February 20th.  With Westbrook sidelined, OKC went 22-8, when he was playing they went 20-4.  I guess the schedule matters, which I didn't look up, but the West is pretty tough.  Perhaps OKC took a trip to the East while he was out.  I sure remember when they came to Philly.  OUCH!  I must say though, they did a heck of a job without him.

Is there a reason that everyone wants to Scott Brooks fired?  He isn't the one with a lead pipe hitting the players prior to the games the last couple seasons...  Is he?  I am guessing the ownership has a Mark Jacksonesque relationship with him.

Spurs throwing in the towel? Or planning on winning with the reserves? Which would be hilarious (however unlikely).

Frustration with the way the season ended with the Thunder almost falling to the #3 seed behind the Clippers. Plus the trouble with Memphis in the first round. There is a feeling Brooks can't make the right adjustments when someone has an off night.

Or a key player is injured

I never understood why the WWE is in the Sports tab. Yes, they are great athletes, but they go by a script.  This is why they should be in the entertainment tab.  If the outcome is predetermined, there is no competition.

For this game? Absolutely. No sense playing the starters in a "what if" scenario. If the bench makes an amazing comeback... then we'll deal with that eventuality when it happens.

correct me if I am wrong (giving e to π odds) but doesn't the fact that Vegas is giving favorable odds to the Spurs mean they are really betting on the Heat to win?

to be fair, a "key" player is key for a reason and if they could just sub someone else in for the same effect then they wouldn't be "key".

look at Bosh's absence two years ago in the finals, he came back, Heat one. Had Bosh not been able to return, Spurs would have won the series.   Say Wade or LeBron is sidelined with an injury, what is the genius Spolstra going to do to cover that loss?

some injuries cannot be coached around.

I'm not convinced Brooks does much beyond deciding lineups and offering helpful words of encouragement.  OKC mostly looks like an ultra-talented team playing streetball.  On top of that the failure to reign in or get rid of Westbrook is still out there (though granted that's not all on Brooks's shoulders).

Sure it can. Just don't mention the franchise nickname. Make shirts in team colors, with the city, state, or region name, rather than club, and you're golden.

let sponsors advertise on the NBA jerseys and we may get somewhere...Let Duncan be sponsored by Tide and Durant be sponsored by ALL, then we can argue who is the better player, more valuable to their club AND which detergent is better at getting the sweat out of their uniforms.
