nowhere in the 6-sentence "article" does it say that Kale is the "most popular" boys name in California.

It just mentions that out of 257 instances nationally, California has the most.

If I ever have kids, I'm naming them all Bob, regardless if boys or girls. I'll then convince my wife that we should legally change our names to Bob.

/Bob.

Naming your kid after some weird vegetable rich people and new age health nuts are crazy for? Sure why not have 2 more kids and name the "Ihate" and "You."

Knew a Craven, he was obnoxious. Know of a girl named Calliope. Though they knew the correct pronunciation, her parents decreed that Cal-ee-oh-pee would be "cuter". Poor kid.

It's alright drowned in butter.

My kids' names are the one thing I feel smug about. Both have been around for a long time and are spelled properly.

If I had kids I would name them "Milord" and "Milady". "Would Milord go to the blackboard and solve the math problem?"

"Hizzoner" is another good one.

It would be normal to name the kid Caleb or Calvin and nickname him Kale. Poor kid wil always be called "Cal" and have to explain he is not Calvin but "Kale".

That's a fail too. It will be pronounced "Millard". And tought of as "Malady".

It can be if not prepared properly. There's a restaurant in my area that has had a tasty lentil/kale soup on their menu for years, well before the current kale fad.

I thought the headline said "Kate," which would be an unusual boys' name.
This is a helpful picture of what a "Kate" may look like:

I guess you could say that. However, I don't like kale in all its versions, but the soup this restaurant makes is delicious. As with many foods, for me it depends on the way they're prepared.

For example, I dislike cooked spinach, but like it as part of a salad. Don't care much for cooked carrots unless they're part of a stew or pot roast, and so on.

When I was in elementary school I knew a girl name Camilla, but she and her parents pronounced it like it rhymed with PAM-e-la. So she was CAM-i-lla. I tried to tell her how it was really pronounced and she just got mad at me. We never did get along.

I remember back in the '70s when Gage became a popular name. It was because of the character Gage on "Emergency!", played by Randolph Mantooth.

/No one named their kids either Randolph or Mantooth.

Hey, my grandmother cured pemphigus. Literally. She had pemphigus in the mid-1960s and they tested then experimental Cortisone on her. It worked. She lived to age 97, even outliving the young doctor who saved her life.

Fun fact: Debbie Harry shut down Blondie because her husband got pemphigus and she needed to care for him. Sounds like a horrible disease.
