"Tiffany Huntz" - definitely sounds like a chick who takes her clothes off for $ (don't do a GIS for her at work)

So I have to take a survey in order to continue reading the article. It's multiple choice, but they left out the "F*ck off and die!!" answer. Let me take a quick survey of you Farkers: What should I do? (Anatomically impossible answers will receive bonus points.)

When Anderson left office in 2002 due to term limits, he endorsed Maketa as his successor, and Maketa was elected to the first of his three terms. At his 2003 swearing-in, he said, "I will be honest, loyal, dedicated and make sacrifices necessary to ensure that you as well as the expectations of this community are met."

Not every day you see a zeugma blow up in somebody's face.

Wait - so, why are we slamming one of the three women, when the guy is the real scumbag here? Yes, she's not exactly a winner for screwing her way to a comfortable gig, but she's small fry compared to the "Kingpin O' Kock", here, running his little Occupational Amish roost with an iron... hand.

What's interesting is that the small local independent - and very liberal - rag started asking these questions 4 years ago.

http://www.csindy.com/coloradosprings/star-treatment/Content?oid=164 86 69

Maketa has been kind of a poster child for the tea party republicans, and the Gazette is a very conservative leaning paper.

He's pissed off everyone because if you even hint at having a negative opinion about anything he does he will attempt to use his Tea Party supporters to take you down.  Napoleon complex doesn't even begin to describe his attitude.  What happened now is he's term limited and many people are paying him back for being a complete asshat (what sucks for him is they have facts to use), the Gazette has likely been sitting on this stuff for years and the chickens are coming home to roost.

It doesn't sound so much like it's about an inappropriate* sexual relationship as much as it's about his abuse of power.

But abuse of power doesn't generate the clicks.

* Sex with co-workers is not automatically inappropriate, even with nekkid selfies. People are gonna have sex, sometimes they take photos, just move along people, nothing unusual there...

So, here's the real problem with all of this:  We as a society need to accept and accommodate the fact that people are going to fark where they work.  It's going to happen, and there's nothing we can do to stop it.  biatch about "hostile workplace" or "immorality" all you want, people are still going to have sex with people they work with.

What we need to do instead of trying to make rules against people having sex (because that will NEVER work, no matter how hard you wish for it) is to make sure appropriate safeguards are in place to prevent the parties involved from using sex as a power play.  Sure, it's more complicated to set up alternative promotion paths for people involved with each other, to properly investigate and handle actual sexual harassment issues instead of futile attempts to ban everything sexual from the workplace, and to make sure that uninvolved parties aren't negatively affected, but it has to happen or we will forever keep having problems like this.

Depending on the job and industry, that seems like implementing something like that would go from hard to maybe impossible. Unless promotions are given entirely on merit (hah!), there's just to many subjective things involved to really be able to stop it.

I do agree with your sentiment though.

Society needs to loosen up.  This should be a common greeting.

"Hi, Bob!  Looks like you're losing weight - keep it up!"
"Hi, Susan!  I think often about touching, kissing and licking every inch of your amazing body!"

I really do hope Contestant #3 can suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch, otherwise.... thank you, NO.

This guy is a piece of shat. Just last week he voted HIMSELF for a high police honor (don't know the term and too lazy to dig it up), got called out on it, then dismissed himself and gave it to one of his line officers.

This town has too much Focus on the Family and Old Guard shat...corruption runs DEEP in this city, and the Nazette is mostly okay with it.

This is all well known for people working in the County. Maketa is a real sumbiatch that abuses any and all power he's held.

All I can say to this is that people usually get the elected officials they deserve, especially after the first term shakeout.

Yes, he's a POS, but he didn't vote himself into that award. It was the Undersheriff, Paula Presley, who nominated him at the last minute (tell me something isn't going on between those two). The other commanders felt pressured to award the sheriff with that honor. Maketa didn't have any issues accepting the award at first, then gave it up after the story broke.

All in all, the guy has turned our to be pretty damn sketchy.
