I've always been told that inflation isn't simply a rise in commodity prices that it's a systemic increase in prices due to an expansion of the money supply. Commodity prices can rise due to scarcity.

Yeah, I just bought the same thing I bought about 10 years ago and it cost a shiaton more US$ ~!pretty much almost double.  Then again, I bought another thing and it might have been pretty close to the same cost.

/Guess what's the difference...
