So *they* got to him too.

Sorry, you don't get to take it back.
You were wrong about this, which means that every scientist in the world who thinks global warming exists is also wrong.
That's common sense, and you don't need a PHD to tell you that.

Seriously. It would be like God saying that you're not allowed to eat pork and then turning around and saying that you can. It doesn't make sense!

Well, the first part doesn't make sense. Not eat pork? Might as well prohibit eating delicious fruit in the center of a garden somewhere.

1975 was long before global warming was an established fact.  As I remember it, everyone was worried that there was going to be a new ice age back then.

Kim Bassinger wants to take back The Cool World.

I also remember Interferon being the miracle cure for cancer and cold fusion being the cure for the world's energy needs.  People fexor stuff up now and then but still we soldier on.

I just remember being taught to be skeptical when too many people agree on one thing. That and they say there is no question... no need for debate...etc...
Not very scientific. Something about always questioning your conclusions as part of the method......

This guy may have been right, it was pretty damn cold this past winter.

I like how people say "scientists" like they're all from the same discipline.

Why aren't astrophysicists working on curing cancer?! Goddamned layabouts.

Talk about cherry-picking data. Why cut that off at 1979? Is it because it'd be too inconvenient to acknowledge the steadily growing number of papers that predict global cooling? This is why people can't trust scientists, because they're always distorting the data to fit their preconceptions.

Not the science, the solutions.  I guess when the only tool you have is a hammer...

Saw an article today about how a warmer climate is resulting in less river-flow in many places, most likely because the less frozen ground upstream is soaking it up, leaving less for those downstream who need it.

That'll be fun.

We'll accept it as science when it stops being used as a political tool to attack capitalism.  Until then it's an ideology with all the landmarks of a religion.

Steadily growing? They taper of in the 80s and we get basically none now. Dimming turned out to be a weaker force and also was directly addressed by policy in a bunch of places.

Well sorry, but you can't.   Science is now and forever a bunch of bullplop.  This means Kirk Cameron is now president and Neil de Grasse Tyson has to walk around Fermilab wearing a T-shirt that says FART on it.

FTA: "While the hypotheses described in that original story seemed right at the time, "

While I remain skeptical to exactly how many factors contribute to global warming, I'm getting a kick out of this.
