I may be wrong, no argument. I just imagine today's Georgian (outside of Atlanta at least) seeing it as Douche or Turd v Democrat, and picking anything but Democrat.

Georgia is changing. IIRC Sam Nunn's daughter, who is the democrat, is polling slightly ahead of all of the republican candidates.

And from other articles she apparently has 2x the war chest already saved up, and a run off is only going to make that different grow. Plus both Republican camps will be on maximum pooh sling.

"We're now going to have this really interesting runoff in Georgia to see who the Republican nominee is to try and hold on to that Saxby Chambilss seat," Maddow said, which is "absolutely key" to the GOP plan to try to seize control of the Senate this fall.
"They're gonna go one-on-one for two months," she crowed, "slugging it out for the Republican nomination. This is going to be a very fun one to watch."

Yeah, sounds like she's "gleefully anticipating carnage" to me...

I am not discounting her intelligence.  That does not mean, however, that her role isn't, like Rush's, to disseminate and explain political talking points to partisans either too lazy or incapable for thinking for themselves.

Obama lost Georgia by 8 points in 2012.  The only state Romney carried with a smaller margin was North Carolina.

Georgia is less "untouchably red" than Michigan (Obama +9) or new Mexico (Obama +10)  "untouchably blue".  It's less red than Missouri.  It's not Alabama (Romney +22), and it's certainly not Utah (Romney +48).

except when facts back up her assertions.  there are such things as facts, believe it or not.  i don't even need to hear from Rachel because i can look around this Country and see who is telling the truth and who is lying thru their gold encrusted pie holes. Rachel just makes the truth more fun and interesting.

Sam Nunn was rather loved by both parties in this state, his daughter is towing the level headed, sensible line her father used to win re-election even when the republicans were taking over.  She has a very good chance of winning especially if Purdue wins the runoff, being related to the former governor will be a liability in the general election.

i understand what you are saying.  Republicans don't exist, as far as i'm concerned.  i would never befriend or say a damn thing to a person if i knew they were republican.  but.....Dems have dirt on their hands too.  they do some stupid sh*t sometimes and they love money too much sometimes too. (they are 'muricans after all)

some dems will steal a hot stove too, except they won't wear gloves like a republican will.

but now, i vote straight ticket.  i won't even bother listening to a republican Turd anymore because ever time i have listened in the past 10 years or so, i can easily poke holes in their 'reasoning' within a few minutes.  why bother listening anymore??

i know what they want and i know why they want it.  its no secret.

reTurdlicans are selfish, greedy, and often ignorant people who remind me of 10 year olds who don't realize that they can't see the forest because all the leaves are in the way.

I've been reading that Michelle Nunn's problem is that she doesn't take policy stands. She's been in nonprofits for years, so "out" of politics, but apparently she won't pin down an actual ACA position ("we want to work to fix it" is not a position unless you include policy suggestions, which she hasn't).

Anyway, that's better than "I hate things, and so can you" Republicans, but Michelle is trying to not lose this race. This far out, that'll work to keep the poll numbers up, but as soon as we start getting into red-vs-blue campaigning, she's going to have to define herself beyond "my dad was a good governor".

If she had any interest in my bits, I'd gladly show them to her.
