Just for the record, I have every solo album Diana Ross ever put out... on vinyl... first edition.

2004-02-09 03:15:21 PM
Wasn't she the one that was mixed up with Michael Jackson?

2004-02-09 03:16:50 PM
Props for the creative headline.

2004-02-09 03:17:42 PM
All celebrities have a 'get out of jail free' card for any occasion. Nothing to worry about here.

2004-02-09 03:17:51 PM
What!? Celebrities aren't above the law? Somebody hold me...

2004-02-09 03:18:30 PM
Not only will she avoid jail, she'll get damages for her injured feelings.

2004-02-09 03:18:50 PM
Great headline.

2004-02-09 03:18:57 PM

Lovely - gets convicted for DUI, only gets 2 days in jail. If any of us gets convicted, we'll get much more than that.

Ross, 59, originally was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more and extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15% or more.

0.15 is extreme, I thought she already was...

well anyway, I hate that for her, I hope she gets the deluxe cell next to the kitchen.

2004-02-09 03:20:26 PM
Dionne Warwick saw this coming.

2004-02-09 03:20:47 PM
It was a good headline.

And I've heard over and over about what a nasty bizzitch Diana Ross is, so I won't be crying too many tears for her little 2 day jailarity.

2004-02-09 03:21:01 PM
Good, now get out of the headlines woman.

2004-02-09 03:22:19 PM
oh please stop, in the name of love!

2004-02-09 03:22:21 PM
well what did Glenn Campbell get? Maybe they can share a cell.

"And there ain't nothing I can do about it"

Every record? First edition? Vinyl? Without making assumptions regarding your fondness for female flesh, I have to say "Gayest.Album.Collection.Ever!"

Still kinda cool though. What's your fave track?

2004-02-09 03:26:33 PM
I got 10 days in jail for the exact same crime, from the excact same judge.

2004-02-09 03:31:10 PM
kudos to the submitter.

That headline made me laugh out loud at work, that's not easy.

2004-02-09 03:31:52 PM
She could run for President of the USA now...

2004-02-09 03:34:33 PM
shabu, I just went through a phase, ok? It's normal to experiment with washed up solo soul singers when you're young. Nothing went on my permanent record.

I doubt any of us would have gotten off that easy.

2004-02-09 03:37:08 PM

Creepy hair. Gah!

2004-02-09 03:37:46 PM
exact same judge, damn keyboard

2004-02-09 03:39:26 PM
A washed-up soul singer in Tuscon
Proceeded to do some hard boozin'
And got caught driving drunk--
As a skunk in a trunk--
So they gave her a cell of her choosin'.

2004-02-09 03:40:04 PM
nice headline

2004-02-09 03:40:55 PM
She attended via dial in phone? What???? The judge should have put the smack down on that in and of itself. Extra 2 days! Next!

2004-02-09 03:51:14 PM
Sounds like she paid the Supreme price...

2004-02-09 03:56:24 PM
tr!pps - Celebraties are above the law, if this was you or me we'd get the full book thrown at us. 2 days + 1 year probation really isn't that bad.

2004-02-09 03:58:15 PM
Oh, man! Now that song is going through my head. It'll take a full drag queen review to exorcise it.

2004-02-09 04:06:38 PM
Now THAT'S a good headline. And not a misspelling in it!

2004-02-09 04:12:46 PM
You just keep me hanging on.

Hey Diana! Watch out for your cornhole, buddy.

2004-02-09 04:20:50 PM
She should have appealed to the Supremes Court.

2004-02-09 04:27:49 PM
Lawyer's opening statement:

"Uh, everything that guy says is bullshiat, thank you."

Did any one else notice they have three laws concerning one offense.

2004-02-09 05:28:18 PM
Excellent headline, submitter - made me snort out loud, anyway

2004-02-09 05:47:06 PM
For those who think that Diana Ross got a light sentence (broccoli, TheSkiBum69) your local MADD chapter can let you know that this is about the most that ever happens to first time offenders. Usually there is NO jail time but a truckload of fines and meetings instead.

On any given night in Tucson, if you drive, you are in a crowd of drunk drivers. It is just a matter of which ones get arrested first. Many cops get 2 to 4 arrests per shift, if they are traffic units. With the casinos, drunks are driving at all hours. This Ross asshat was .20 BAC and, they probably didn't waste time with DRE or any other drug tests. I bet she was on coke too. I am sure the judge wished he could slam her with more. So many people drive drunk. Cabs are much cheaper than lawyers.

2 days in the can should teach her something about humility. 2 days in the un-airconditioned jail in August would be better........too bad she didn't do this in Phoenix.

2004-02-09 07:25:01 PM
Don't care about the article, but let me say, EXCELLANT HEADLINE!

snort.

2004-02-09 07:28:17 PM
Great headline. Made my head a splode.

2004-02-09 08:38:41 PM
While she's in prison, she can do an impromptu routine:

- Set me free, why dontcha babe ...
- Unchained melody
- Jailhouse rock
- Folsom prison blues (LOL -- nice image -- her doing Johnny!)

And if she wants to resurrect her acting career (sic), there's always
- Women of cell block 9 ...

Our Tucson paper said she won't be doing her time in the local jail. She will go to an undisclosed location. Probably Ventana Canyon*.

*a luxory resort in the foothills of Tucson.
