Not doing ones job is Heroic?

Ok, then

2014-05-21 10:08:09 AM
Yeah, she should have done her job to the T. If they were actually doing everything she accuses them of, then the minutes would be nice and incriminating. But since she chose to tweet, she not only comes off as lazy but probably a liar too.

She sounds self-entitled. Wonder how old she is?

Her description of town council meetings sounds pretty spot on.

I always thought that the solution to unfunded pensions was trivial.
fark OVER the people who were supposed to get the pensions.

Do that once or twice and every pension in the US would get fixed overnight.
No really. If enough people get screwed, everyone else would work real hard to FIX their pensions.

Nope. None of those farkers care now, why should we care later?

What a self aggrandizing, entitled little twunt.  "I didn't feel like doing my job and I think you guys all suck, so I QUIT! TAKE THAT!"

Why is a city council clerk subject to recalls?  Is that an elected position?

Why??!! Why do people fark themselves over like this? Future employers finding her on a google will get links to this news story, and who'd want to hire that?

It's like using the nickname 'I have the herp' on Plenty of Fish.

Maybe she was confused by "clerk" and thought it said coont? Either way the city is better off without her.

FTFA:  In an e-mail Monday to Mayor Tim Flaherty announcing her resignation, effective immediately, she wrote, "This has been an atrocious, incredibly depressing and mind-numbingly inane experience I would not wish on anyone. I wish the city the best of luck in finding some schmuck eager to transcribe every last misogynistic joke, self-indulgent anecdote and pathetic pandering attempt by council, and every tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, racist aside, and NIMBY asshattery from the lovely council meeting frequent flyers, without which, surely our democracy could not flourish."

Maybe next time she takes a job she can learn how meeting minutes actually work before she runs for the office.

The article also misses the backstory where her office doesn't actually have the funding required to do its work, not that she would understand the problem enough to make an issue of it and fix it as the elected officer in her job should do.  Good luck Working America with this vapid idiot.

FTFA: Lehmkuhl took a job in Washington, D.C., with Working America, an affiliate of the AFL-CIO that represents non-union workers, according to her Twitter account.

Yeah sounds like most town/county meetings but using hero with her is a little much. If she is young I hope she is ready for a lifetime of jobs like this

LandOfChocolate: Why is a city council clerk subject to recalls?  Is that an elected position?

Some cities in California have it as an elected position to keep the power of the office separate from the city council (running town elections, timekeeping at mtgs, minutes).  But with the Brown act and other CA law it is largely unnecessary to keep it an elected office now.  The town in this story is moving to make the office report to the town manager.

yeah, the Parks and Rec show examples of such meetings are sadly not far off from the truth.  the hero tag needs a biatchslap from the stupid tag.

She got hired by the AFL-CIO.

She had been known for Tweeting during council meetings, with posts that included personal observations.

Sounds like the firm isn't actually the union but is union-adjacent.  She will do well there in that she was not actually the clerk in her last job, she was clerk-adjacent.

She is probably right about all the -isms she was dealing with.  The problem is that she didn't suck it up and finish the job.  So somebody wants to be NIMBY about a project: Well now that there are no meeting minutes they can create a legal stranglehold on the project.
So by not doing her job she is supporting the very thing she claims to hate.

RTFA??? You must be new here. The point of posting on Fark is making a post snarky, and laden with irony, and mixed with any other sarcastic inside jokes you can come up with, while NOT having read the article. Jeez, do we have to spell it out for you? Come on, man!

No, no NO!

the ONLY posters who are allowed to not RTFA and still post drivel are those who inhabit the politics tab, where trolling and outright lying are not only tolerated, they are encouraged.  The rest of you LOOSERS need to keep up and quit posting crap that doesn't involve tittays or crotches of some sort..

sure did.  said she took already took the job in dc, therefore the interview took place before this little blow out...right?

so if/when this working america gig doesnt work out, she will have another interview and a quick search on her name will turn up this gem.

either way, congrats on using abbreviations.  now STFU and GBTW.

or, watch the video admire her current 'look' from january and how it does not quite match the pic used in the stock photos.

In this case, yes, and the voters in Pleasant Hill are in a knot over this. The local news blog is full of people suggesting someone else tell her new boss or defame her on FB. They may even spit on her car.
