A series of al Qaeda-based threats to attack American and Western targets in Europe, as well as threats to launch attacks inside the United States, has caused significant concern inside the U.S. intelligence community, CNN has learned.

I'm pretty sure that the only way CNN learns anything these days is through Twitter.

We have just confirmed that Pocket Ninja has honed in on CNN's business model.

So the threat level has moved from ecru to mauve and is heading straight to chartreuse. This means trouble. Or swatches.

Such a pile of bull waste.

Look, if your gov't can track you, the good citizen, it can track and kill the bad guys quite easily.

This is a show.  I know I'm not stupid enough to believe that the might of the U.S. military is being repelled by ragtag terrorists with nothing but a pocketful of black powder and a dream.

But as we learned from the Boston Marathon bombings, all you have to do is spell your name slightly differently and no one will notice you.

I'm more worried about those things and the AT&T/DirecTV merger than I am of terrorists.

I know how to solve this:  Hashtags

Now all we have to do is get Michelle Obama and a few Hollywood Celebrities on board and we'll be just fine.

Frontline on PBS aired part 2 of their expose into the history of the NSA situation since 9/11 tonight.

First thing I wondered was if this story is just propaganda aimed at getting the American people back on point.

Just gotta jack up the fear and the public will jump in line and support their rights being stripped away.

`the core al Qaeda group in Pakistan`

OK, so wasn`t an aim of the USA to get Al Qaeda wherever they may be? Invade countries and all that?

They are in Pakistan.

What ya gonna do?

Nothing of course because it does not fit the pre-existing plan to destabilise the middle east and stop oil flowing to russia.

Al qaeda were just convenient and let that happen. They were not the target. I`ll be surprised if osama was killed by soldiers instead of (kidney? liver?) organ failure years ago.

Look for a consensus in the media that now is the time to start the fiction up again, then look at any story not about terrorism and see what they are trying to hide...

It was SO obvious here in the UK. First we had LOTS of stories saying muslims wanted to blow stuff up.

Then about a year and a half later we had stories about muslim groups that were being caught in the UK planning to blow stuff up.

Every single group was one that had started up inside the UK because of the stories...

The media MADE the terrorist threat here in the UK.

They advertised it like any other product and some people bought the lie.

Wrong. Tracking people who aren't trying to hide and don't have ridiculous names like Tsarnaev is a lot easier than tracking terrorists.

If the government could track terrorists, you'd think Obama would kill fewer people in Yemen because he wouldn't be operating on the assumption that any male of fighting age in certain regions who's talked to somebody previously blown up is a terrorist.

Isn't about time they dragged out flag burning again?
That one's always good for pushing buttons, pissing off people and distracting them from things that actually have an affect on them (e.g., jobs/lack thereof, climate change, air/water pollution, crumbling infrastructure, etc.).
