You should look into their traditions about crossing the equator, international date line, etc.

Nein, nein, nein. Do not be so literal. Sometimes a giant stone dong is just a giant stone dong.

Greased up navy guys? Sounds good to me. My only question is why this isn't televised in HD each year.

Ah...I'll be in my bunk.

Baby officers are adorable and they live down the street from me.  Whenever I get lonely I can always head into Annapolis and stare behind my sunglasses.  Good times.

Crownsville.  It's in the redneck borderlands of MD.  Some of my neighbors are ridiculously wealthy, some have a few too many broke cars on their lawns...some have both.  It's very close to Annapolis, which is where the Naval Academy is.

Midshipmen aren't actually people, let alone sailors.

I really wish people would stop using the term "half-naked". It makes about as much sense as "almost pregnant".

CSB mode ON:

I was a member of the class of 2005 (it's where my username comes from...it's my old Alpha #, a midshipman's official USNA identification).

Anywho, when our class was doing Herndon, there was a moment when a female midshipman was on top of the pile of mids, and very close to switching the covers (the event ends when a plebe replaces the "dixie cup" hat on top of the monument with a brimmed, officer style cover).  Dudes started freaking out, throwing shoes and articles of clothing.  They knocked her off the pile.

I ended up getting into a fight with one of the dudes that was throwing sh*t after I asked him WTF he was doing.  I said "We could've been done, you asshat," or words to that effect.

He replied that he'd be damned if our class would be the first to have "some biatch" end Herdon.  We started shoving each other, our fight got broken up quickly, and awhile later, our Herndon was finally over.

That was one of the many moments that helped me determine a career in the Navy wasn't right for me.

Oh, and that vid was WEAK.  Our year, that lard was caked on.  Go ahead, GIS USNA class of 2005 Herndon climb, and compare the starting pics to this year's.
