And CenturyLink isn't even specifically listed.  Probably because they don't have wide coverage yet.

I'm moving at the end of the month and will have to leave that behind.  It's really too bad because I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Well, they're definitely rounded. The percentage difference between 72 and 69 is 4.2553%, between 71 and 69 is 2.8571%, between 73 and 68 is 7.0922%, etc.

All huge corporations suck. Some suck slightly more and some slightly less, but they all suck.

I don't like any of them, and no, I don't have cable.  Do not want.

At least once a month I get a knock on the door from someone from that company.

I gotta ask--is that residential solicitation?  Because my town has an ordinance forbidding that.

I also love me some Century Link. Their 'homepage' politics leans somewhere between Brietbart and Townhall,  but they never throttle down and they have never given so much as a tinker's dam no matter what I download.

It's a percentage lost, not the number of points lost.
DirecTV - lost 3 points. 3/68 = 4.4%
Verizon - lost 5 points. 5/73 = 6.8%.
TWC - lost 4 points. 4/60 = 6.66...%

So, they should have stuck to one decimal place, or none. But things appear accurate-ish at first glance.

I too am looking to move, but not to a specific area. CL coverage will be one of the determining factors.

Darn, Mediacom's not specifically listed, either.  And they do suck, particularly when it comes to customer service.  Actually, I only get internet from them, although they do keep trying  to get me to add cable back into the mix, and then to add phone service on top of  that.  Nope.  Not putting all my eggs in one overpriced basket.

So close.

Comcast apparently just decided I can no longer have The Hub, and put it (along with 79 channels I'll never watch) in the next higher bracket, because Ponies.
I had that farking channel for the last 5 years. Then "Nope. Not yours anymore. We are taking just that one channel away)

We used to have Charter Com. here and they did suck.. support was horrible. Knew two people that worked local tier one, yank-your-chain and waste your time, support for them, and happened to know exactly where the main support center in Louisville, KY was because I passed right by it while I was there, many times.
Dropped signals, IP addy changes as often as 1 minute apart... got into the "modem" and printed out THEIR modem log for the recent events and took 5 pages of events in to show manager what had been happening.. 3 months free; she had NO idea wtf any of it meant.  One support guy got mouthy on the phone.. until I told him where he was sitting in Louisville, including interstate, exit name AND #, street name and left turn into parking lot.. going to stop by and have a face to face chat over some hot coffee after I grab some fresh Krispy Kreams off Bardstown Road... 2 months free. LMAO Neighbor (one of the two that worked support) said it was rare to get a single free month from them.
Another moron said MY computer was controlling all the IP address assignments for their network.. that is why it was changing addresses so often.  I said I wanted paid for that!

We have Suddenlink now and they have been pretty good (good enough I went with Cable/Net/Phone VIP package), although for the past month, month and half, the 15MB has been running at 1/2 or even 1/3 strength and starting to royally piss me off.  However, I do know they are in the middle of upgrades, so giving them some time.

Percent change = ([Final - Initial]/Initial)*100%

Most were within a few tenths.  Rounded off for easy reading.

We will never ever ever ever have Google Fiber in Texas because Time Warner has a strangle hold on internet service here. IF you dont like it, farking move.

2014-05-20 01:35:25 PM
Our internet/phone is through Charter, I really am rather pleased with them. I know there's horror stories about everybody, but they've been easy to deal with and have held up their end of things. I do wish they would just give me a consistent rate instead of going from deal to deal all the time though- I hate having to watch for when our bill changes and then call and try to get on another 12 month rate.

Miss Alexandra: At least once a month I get a knock on the door from someone from that company.

I had cable for internet for a few months between homes and every week someone would call me up trying to sell me phone service.  I kept asking - what year is this? 1997?  Who the hell still has a landline?

/threatened legal action got them to eventually stop

If it weren't for live sports, particularly the NFL, I'd ditch cable altogether. Does the NFL network offer RedZone streaming?

It took Comcast 11 weeks to send me the self-install cable box.  I signed up online, but heard nothing for 5 weeks.  Then I spent the next 6 weeks dealing with Support to simply mail me the box for which I had paid S/H!  They wanted me to drive somewhere and pick it up!  Fark that!

Meanwhile, I was billed 3 months of service, because Billing has absolutely no idea what's going on.  Took some nastygrams to convince them not only was I not hooked up, but that I had paid for a month of service in advance.

Farking nightmare.

As a former Time Warner customer, I can tell you. They suck to "commiting fraud' levels. Listen carefully to their (and anyone else's ads) and learn something.

You get cable. If you get the super duper tier, you get on demand, dvr, watch on any device, etc) FREE!!!

Except in TW's case this shiat DIDNT FARCKING WORK. All you could be sure of was a nice big error message when you went to use on demand, or finally got round to watching that Breaking Bad finale, etc.

So you say..."That's bullshiat, I'm calling customer service!" you call customer service, present them your documentation, email them your screenshots and demand a refund.

I shiat you not, you'll hear this "I'm sorry, but there is no refund. those services are all "free", unless there is an interruption of regular cable service...blah blah blah".

To their credit, by the time I left them, they were a bunch better, but a scam is a scam, friends.

Satisfaction with cable companies plummet

Clearly not enough Comcast users were surveyed in this study.

Where to start?

How about the fact that they're the only major cable company that still doesn't allow users to stream HBO GO on Rokus.

Or that they still have relatively few channels in HD.

Or that when you drop their service, they hound you like a collection agency to get you to sign back up (I'm sure other cable companies do this, but when I dropped TWC two years ago I didn't get one telemarketing call).

Let's not forget their crappy on demand menu system that hasn't changed since 2005.

I just cannot believe that Time Warner Cable is on that list.  Who doesn't love:

Revolving channel lineups?
Redundant channel slots that make you have to scroll by storage wars 3 times while looking through the guide?
A channel lineup that appears to have been organized by the Riddler?
Struggling through 10 different people at the call center because no one can figure out why your bill just went up $10-50/month?
Seeing Coach Cower pimping TWC every eight minutes no matter what channel you are on?
DVR systems that freeze and randomly shut off, usually while recording something you really want to watch.
Internet that does the same.

I freaking love TWC!

2014-05-20 01:47:29 PM
Yeah, my parents are moving and transferring their services, but Comcast shut off the internet about a week early. Between my mom and myself, we spent several hours on the phone and talked to at least 10 different people... finally they decided they would have to send out a tech. No thanks, go fark yourself.

I thought TW was pretty good when I lived in NYC, but I never had a problem for them to fix.

2014-05-20 01:48:24 PM
I cut the cord many years ago. I still go through Charter for Internet, but I don't pay for cable TV. I get everything via streaming services. I haven't missed an episode of anything I like, yet.

Of course, I'm not a big fan of most TV shows, either. Reality shows suck. I'm not into sports. I hate cable news networks. I only barely tolerate most sitcoms.

To me, the vast majority of what's on cable television is like the slop in a hog trough. Only fat, stupid pigs line up to ingest it.

2014-05-20 01:49:42 PM
I never had a problem with TW.  It always worked, was reasonably priced, had fast internet, and no contracts.

None of that is true with DirectTV.
