FloridaFarkTag: White Guilters and EthnoRacists may not like it, but folks don't want to see undies while eating

Any adult willing to eat at a Waffle House at all, let alone at 3:30 in the morning, has a lot bigger things to worry about in their life than other people's undies.

LOL at southerners. Saggy pants have been out of style for a few years in trendsetting SoCal and most of the rest of the west.

Remember when sagging used to be called plumber's butt?

Big Beef Burrito: This is a goddamned Waffle House. You show some respect.

Take that shiat to Denny's.

I've never been to a Waffle House, but the Denny's near me ( just off I-5) isn't too shabby

/ wish they would learn how to cook hash browns correctly.
// at least IHOP gets that shiat right....

Cerebral Ballsy: h0tsauce: memphomaniac: It's just immature racism.  They do it to annoy whitey.  Dr. King can be heard shouting from his grave: "No, no, content of your character, content of your character!"

It's racism, but you've got it backwards. All these "no saggy pants" rules and ordinances are just ways of saying "you can only express yourself in ways we approve of." I'd get pretty belligerent too.

Make sure you get arrested and posted to the main page so I can laugh at you, too.

I'm white, so it's not terribly likely.

FloridaFarkTag: Reason many Waffle House locations have guards is that they are a cash-only business. And, they tend to get robbed by folks who dress like failed rap stars.

waffle house has been accepting mc/visa (amex?) for at least 10 years, and i've never heard of one getting robbed...doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just have never heard of it.
they've had biscuits for at least 7 years...i know it wasn't a topic, just thought i'd throw that in...they don't have ovens...they finally figured out a way to cook them on the flat top

i'm 38. i have cargo shorts. i also have a career (not a high paying one, but it's a secure job with benefits and a retirement plan), a very happy and stable family life, 2 cars (paid in full), a mortgage paid on time each month

so...what's wrong with adults wearing cargo shorts?

what's wrong with white socks?  Black socks look stupid if you can see them (shorts), but they are ok under pans so you only get the hint of them when you sit or move.

TNel: what's wrong with white socks?

They are a fashion atrocity that do not match any kind of shoes except gym shoes, which should be worn in... the gym.

Black socks look stupid if you can see them (shorts), but they are ok under pans so you only get the hint of them when you sit or move.

Black socks do look stupid with shorts, but then again shorts look stupid on adults who aren't currently on the beach or at the gym so it shouldn't really be a problem.

I mean, everyone has the right to dress like a child, but if they do so they certainly shouldn't criticize the people in TFA for dressing like idiots as well.

And you care what people look like because?  I dress for myself.  I wear work appropriate clothing at work and when I get home why do I care what "lilplatinum" thinks of how I dress?  Why should anyone care?  There is nothing wrong with khaki shorts, but if you just want to wear your skinny jeans and puffy shirt then go ahead I'm sure the fashion people will like you more.

So?  They look like idiots who can't dress themselves.  So do adults who wear cargo shorts, jorts, white socks, and all kinds of other fashion faux pas.   If you think its wrong for me to judge people on cargo shorts, its equally wrong to judge them on wearing what they want.  They aren't exposing themselves so theirs no health risk.

Which they aren't violating. There is cloth beneath their skin and the seat.  I am sure some woman wearing a skirt does not 'gross you out' because there might only be a piece of cloth between her skin and the seat.

No, the only real argument you have against how they dress (unless you are a fashion snob, and you have been very clear that it is utterly wrong to judge people on how they dress) is that they dress in a fashion that has been designated "black".

I don't care that they got busted, its Waffle House's right to refuse service to whomever they want and they likely acted like dickheads to the pigs when they showed up and deserved to get busted.  (I bet if waffle house told some drunk ass hillbillies at 3:30 a.m. to get the fark out because they were dressed like idiots it would have gone down similarly as well).

If you had read my post I don't defend what they are wearing, I was just pointing out the hipocracy of the idiots saying they should dress like adults who get all pissy when I suggest that they, too, should dress like adults.

So when they don't wipe well and they have shiat stains on their external clothing and sitting down and that is now on the seats you are fine with it?

If they have shiat stains on their external clothing I would probably worry about it.  I would also worry about it if a guy had external shiat stains on his cargo shorts, or a girl in a thin skirt in the middle of summer had shiat stains on their skirt.

Given the type of people who go to Waffle Houses, I probably would not be fine with touching anything in there.

There is no inherent health issue here.   People whine about people with sagging shorts because 1) it looks ridiculous (like lots of other fashion crimes popular among Americans) and 2) they are racist.

We have already eliminated #1 for you since you have made it abundantly clear that mocking ridiculous looking outfits is wrong...

You got me.  I'm the racist because I want clean things in my restaurants.  Yes I also think girls with no underwear or even guys with none should also be cited.  It's a health hazard to have no undergarments on or to be wearing them on the outside.  To each their own and if you like basically licking strangers assholes then that's on you.

In "my" dining hall in the AF you have to be dressed.   Here's a good paragraph.  "Examples of inappropriate civilian attire include but are not limited to bare feet, exposing of any undergarments, sweaty clothing, tank tops that excessively expose armpits, pajamas and dirty clothing of any type. Any attire that is profane, obscene or could otherwise bring discredit to the integrity or professionalism of the Air Force will not be allowed.

Oh and BTW I have kicked people out for violating those rules, not really kicked but informed that there is a dress code and they will have to leave and then return with proper attire.

It isn't a health hazard by the health department, only in your little imagination.  Visible shiat is a health hazard, I have seen that on an old motherfarker who I assume was wearing underwear.  Perhaps old people are a health violation.  Regardles,, there was no indication that they had shiatty pants so its irrelvant.

To each their own and if you like basically licking strangers assholes then that's on you.

Licking strangers assholes?  You often lick the seats at a waffle house?  Wow... Thats even more farked up than cargo shorts, good job.

TNel: In "my" dining hall in the AF you have to be dressed.

Okay, what does that have to do with anything?   Military has all kinds of stupid rules, they are allowed to, people who decide to join and get on the government dole agree to those rules.  Waffle House has rules, they are allowed to, people who decide to eat that shiat agree to follow their rules.   I don't give a shiat that they were kicked out.

What is amusing is the people in this thread talking about them dressing like adults who somehow think when that same advice is also given to those adults who still dress like children it is inherently wrong.

oh, i see, you've lumped me into the group of people who think their should be a law against dumbasses who can't/won't keep their pants pulled up.

or the group of people, who are actually 100% non-existent in this thread, who think that being against sagging pants is somehow racist.

you see, as incredibly retarded as it looks to have your pants down to your knees, i neither think it should violate any law, unless genitalia/buttocks are exposed, and even then i have a hard time thinking it should be against the law (i'm a nudist, and i think that simple nudity is wrongly classified as sexual). i also think many other fashions look incredibly retarded...neckties, for example. steleto heels, or really any high heels. most western wear that's not actually intended for farm work. extremely largely guaged piercings. neck/facial tattoos. these and many other clothing/adornment choices are bad to me.

TO ME. perhaps not to you. and none of these should be illegal if they're not actually causing any harm

you make a good point with the fact that their undergarments are indeed garments that would normally be acceptable on their own. health code violation? nope. again, the reason they got in trouble with the law, was their attitude, not their manner of dress.

as for MY manner of dress being childish...how? how is it childish for me to wear cargo shorts (or as you put it, any shorts)? especially since i live in ft worth, tx, where the high today is predicted to be 87 degrees and sunny, and it's not even summer yet. and my socks? well, typically if i'm wearing shorts, i'm also wearing birkenstocks and no socks. if i'm doing something i feel i need to wear my nikes for instead of sandals, i typically wear white ankle-length socks. only black socks i have are the ankle-length filas i picked up at ross...and if i'm wearing shorts i'll only wear those socks with my black nikes and my black shorts.

Okay, we agree then.   My original post in regards to someone telling them to "dress like an adult."   The way adults should dress is a complete and utter social construction, but people tend to get their panties in a wad when the same advice is reflected back to then.   I agree that, while I think plenty of things look stupid, people should wear what they want.  Unless it is Ed Hardy, in which case you should be thrown into solitary.

bungle_jr: as for MY manner of dress being childish...how? how is it childish for me to wear cargo shorts (or as you put it, any shorts)?

Because cargo shorts make you look like a 17 year old and white socks look like shiat.  But thats an opinion, and its no more of an immutable scientific fact than the fact that having sagging shorts make one look like a child.

bungle_jr: i live in ft worth, tx

Meh, I'm from Houston.  In Texas you jump from air conditioning to air conditioning, what you wear is fairly irrelevant unless you have some physical labor job outside.  If you do in Texas, I am sincerely sorry.

Although Houston was probably the most poorly dressed place on earth.  Forget about wearing the right things, it was an impossibility for people to even wear things that fit properly.

ed hardy is out...now it's affliction. and i have good friends who, for some reason unbeknownst to me, wear affliction shirts

but, i see you still think my manner of dress is childish. that's ok, no harm, no foul...i dress to my comfort. and, while i do not have an outside job anymore, i get hot when i'm inside the house and the a/c is set at 74. i get hot when i cover up with a sheet (not a comforter, a sheet) and the house is above 73. i get hot sitting near one of my double-pane insulated windows on a hot day. i get hot very easily. i wear shorts, it's what i do
