You know what, given his messages of tolerance elsewhere, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. A wig, fake beard, and fake nose are standard "ridiculous disguise" materials.

My vote was Bajorans - enslaved by another race, freed and fighting for their place in hostile space.  Mystic religion, etc.  Though I do see a Palestinian angle as well.

Ferengi were just the idea of capitalism run amok, and constantly against the socialist utopia that is the Federation.

Jesus, they patented Butt Hurt.
I mean, they own butt hurt.

Rather than "She's not good enough for you" thing.

Jesus. Give it a break.

Macklemore's flow is more offensive than this outfit.  He wasn't tying to be stereotypical at all. If he was trying to make sure everyone paid full price for their ticket and tried to get another 2% off the take for the night, than yeah, probably would have been a bit offensive.

Your comments make you sound like a regular anti-Semite. You're stereotyping an entire religion, you realize that?

Also, the "chosen people' moniker isn't meant to be arrogant or a superiority complex. It's meant to signify that the Jewish people were chosen to fulfill mitzvot and commandments to G-d. It's meant much more to signify an obligation than to imply other nationalities are inferior.

If Judaism considered itself so superior, it would logically try to convert others into it actively. However, it's not easy to convert into Judasim. It seeks people who truly want to become Jewish, and people who demonstrate an actual desire to commit to the tenets of the faith.

So tell me, how can you claim a tenet of Judaism is to be arrogant and self-aggrandizing, and then claim you're not an anti-Semite. Please educate yourself. Your attitude is poisonous to this world.

It doesn't actively convert people because it has ingrained racist xenophobic tendencies. As a group of people, in my personal and second hand achieved experience, Jews suffer from a pretty justifiable but also annoying persecution complex which ill-befits (however justified) such a prosperous people.

I have a bit of Axe to grind because a close secular Jewish friend was indoctrinated into a cultish orthodoxy after his father died and he spent many hours telling me how much better than me he was before I broke off contact, but I don't have a general hatred of Jewish folks. I do feel comfortable generalizing and mentally (or, in theory, verbally or with written word) apologizing to those I misjudge.

Stereotypes exist for a reason but don't paint all they encompass fairly.

As for your last paragraph, disliking some traits doesn't mean I'm filled with hate. I think it's an arrogant religion, if you want I can tell you what I find annoying about other religions. I suspect that wouldn't interest you however. But if I'm not in awe it isn't an indication I have a KKK membership.

That's absolutely and patently false. You're farking just making up reasons on the spot out of your personal anti-Semitism!. At least make an attempt to do research on the subject.

On the Orthodox side of Judaism, it's difficult to convert because there are a ton of obligations (holidays, prayers before and after food, other strict rules). For one to want to take on these obligations, they would need to be very committed.

The difficult process also weeds out those who are converting for ulterior motives: e.g.- to marry into the faith, as opposed to for the pure reasons of believing in the tenets.

RE: your friend. As a typical anti-Semite (see also Hitler), you justify your "axe to grind" with an entire religion because of the experience of your friend. You call your friend's becoming more religious "indoctrination" out of your personal biases. I know many who have turned to faith after a death in the family. Saying Mourners Kaddish (prayers mourning for the dead) for a family member who passed away is a Jewish tradition. Your friend probably took that on, and other traditions on his own. Nobody FORCES anybody to do what they are not comfortable doing.

Please educate yourself: being agnostic does not justify your anti-Semitism.

Instead of doing a lick of research, you just threw out a bottom of the barrel racist comment and hoped it would stick. I appreciate how much your religion means to you. What it also means is you've, in being a zealot, lost all perspective.

Sometimes with politics I get so darn mad that I say: 'those right wing jerks are so selfish I could just SPIT!!!!' when, while I feel justified, I'm probably ignoring some personal bias I should be taking into account. After all, even if I disagree, and fervently adore some leftist heroes like Elizabeth Warren or Jack Layton there are bad eggs and the balance of having reasonable dissent from the opposition helps to ground me and challenge me so I don't think I'm beyond questioning or reproach.

Obviously your situation is much different. I'm a hateful racist you simply can't sway, despite your prayers. Fret not. My punishment for maligning your obviously just cause comes later, as my soul is cleansed in the fires for much longer than yours so I may serve your people in the temple.

Say hi to Tatsuma for me. We had a very similar 'discussion' 2 years ago where he nailed himself up like you are. Good luck. I know it's frustrating I don't envy and adore you, I'll pick up your toys as you storm out of the thread in compensation.

The least the half-wit could do is research his claims, instead of just yapping from his racist lip. Perhaps get to know a handful of Jewish people before saying something is an inherent trait of an entire people.

Where did I (the bad man) touch your self righteous, condescending, assuming ass? Just show us all on this doll and I'll donate some money to Israel to bomb those dirty Muslims some more.

I'd pity you if I wasn't as afraid of you as any other zealots.

At least those horrible examples of their religions don't have such a sad persecution complex coupled with a megalomaniacal need to be beyond questions. Your expressed narrative is juvenile. You questioned my use of the word 'indoctrinated' because you have been. Quite thoroughly it seems. What flavour kool-aid do they serve at your synagogue?

inclemency: My punishment for maligning your obviously just cause comes later, as my soul is cleansed in the fires for much longer than yours so I may serve your people in the temple.

There are ways to reduce prejudiced beliefs in one's heart. Educating oneself, exposing oneself to other cultures, etc.

However, as your statements here prove, there's not much cure for your stupidity. Your thinking that Judaism has any semblance of what you call "hell" is another indication that you're a simpleton, and the worst kind of simpleton. You are the last person to realize it.

That last bit of serving "my" people in the Temple was also quite nonsensical.

I suspect Tatsuma is still recovering from having to explain basic logic to a half-wit like yourself, only to realize each proceeding statement you make is more idiotic than the last.

Please lie down before your hurt yourself.

We are done here.

Oh, I completely agree. We are done.

You think I'm a stupid racist and I consider you a self-righteous zealot with an ingrained defense mechanism who takes offense at the hint of curiosity or questioning of your faith and whose primary instinct is to lash out (with no introspection AT ALL) at anyone who has queries or concerns about the world view or actions of your faith.

Good luck, you'll live longer than I because people like you are why I drink. Ass.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure (too lazy to read back on my phone... It's kinda a pain) that at no point did I reduce myself to questioning your intelligence (which actually now seems suspect based on our full interaction) as you laid haymaker after haymaker in terms of personal attacks and denigrations of my intellect.

Newsflash, you intentionally victimized loser: someone disagreeing with you isn't an accurate immediate indictment of their intelligence.

For actual intellectuals it's a call to introspection. You apparently are as far from that as is possible for someone who can write as well as you (you do write quite coherently). I suppose it's the arrogant desire to buy into the hype you've been indoctrinated with, and the effects of the kool-aid you drank.

Enlightened Liberal: T.rex: This guy either, and don't say otherwise, or else he'll be owned a pound of flesh.

So who were the space Jews in Star Trek: the Ferengi or Bajorans?

Both

The Ferengi were the greedy American Jews who are motivated by money and business.

The Bajorans are the Israeli settlers who are taking back their homeland from the Nazi Kardassians, Sisko is Space Jesus and they are the first line in stopping the Dominion of Muslims taking over Space Christendom of the United Federation of Planets.

wistfulparanoia: inclemency: It doesn't actively convert people because it has ingrained racist xenophobic tendencies

This.

It fits with Gene Rodenberry's bizarre millennialist ideals. He was already misogynistic, Marxist, anti-theistic, and the like, and anti-Semitism seems to go with all that in practice. There's ample evidence that the Ferengi were supposed to be Jews in Space and Capitalists in Space. I'm not sure if he had any input on the Bajorans, however.

From what I understand, different sects have different conceptions of the afterlife, some including Sheol and other hells, some not. From what I have been able to tell, it's kindof like Purgatory with Catholics - some think it is necessary, some think it's a good idea, some say it doesn't exist at all, some say it's irrelevant.

Also, the Macklemore thing looks like Woody Allen trying to make fun of anti-Semites making fun of Jews. Except without the horns.

/Love and Death is the best movie he ever did.

Meh. Be a whiny, self absorbed, victimized people all you want.

I'll just continue to not respect your self righteous and arrogant zealots. Like you and mister 'if you disagree with me you're a racist'  you're aligning yourself with. Enjoy your echo chamber.
