Well, it's either this or another 50 attempts to repeal ACA

Senator Lindsey Graham used a word I've never heard a politician resort to, when he said, "The scumbags are the people in the White House who lied about this."  Then he looked at McCain, grabbed his purse, and said, "John, get the car!"

No, it just means that someone at the RNC can actually read poll data that says "It looks like the 'we'll take away your health care' messaging isn't really helping, and it's cutting down on insurance company donations" and is instead proposing a platform of "Why didn't Obama send in G.I. Joe, Optimus Prime, Rambo and Godzilla using the secret government transporter that can deliver a fully-supported armored division anywhere in the world in three minutes?"

The use of scumbag is a good way to date somebody.  I don't think anyone born after "Hill Street Blues" was popular uses it.

Is it possible the Obama administration fudged the nature of the attack, refusing to apply the term "terrorist"? Yes, of course. Did the White House spinmeisters put their hands all over it? Could be.

STFU, Cohen.

You aren't being racist here, don't worry.

You're closer to being a climate change denier who is in favor of economic inequality, which is about as bad.

So why did you make that statement? Did you not think there would be consequences?

The whole #Benghazi nonsense is an attempt to make an attack on Obama's foreign policy and to show the bedwetting conservatives how he is weak on terrorists.  He admits there is nothing there (sort of.  see my last quote) and then Cohen slides this turd in as an ender:

The president was wrong and weak on Syria. The president got off on the wrong foot with Israel. And the president has been slow to recognize that what is done in one sphere, the Middle East, for instance, affects another, such as the looming threat of an expansionist China. These are issues Congress could and should look at.

He's still happy as shiat to have useless investigations into every slight he imagines the President has committed.  God damn the WP needs to let this fool go.  It's garbage.

I've had Cletus on ignore for his pathetic trolling for a long time.

Tuning the car radio some weeks back, I heard the president denounced as a moron. I was shocked. I had reached some right-wing talker and he was carrying on about something Barack Obama had recently said - that he worries more about a nuclear attack on New York than he does about Russia. The radio guy declared that the president had given terrorists an idea. He apparently forgot that the notion of attacking New York had already occurred to them.

I live in a media bubble, I suppose, and this might account for my otherwise inexplicable innocence. But this is the way the president's opponents talk. It is rude. It is crude. It is disrespectful and it is downright nuts - but it is not limited to radio talkers. It is the lingua franca of the Republican Party.

Welcome to what the rest of us in 'Real Murica 'are subjected to on a daily basis, so glad you could join us from your metropolitan East Coast cocoon.   In the midst of this eye opening "Eureka!" moment, know that what you were exposed to is the sanitized and self censored version of what gets publicly aired out over the airwaves for mass consumption.   You should hear what they're saying in their living rooms and kitchen tables.

This is why I always roll my eyes when I hear the locals wail that "The ivory tower elitist media don't understand us".  Be glad they don't.   Be glad they still romanticize you as just ordinary folk of the heartland.  Simple "blue collar", God fearin' folk, who "bring their lunchbox to work every day", and believe in an honest day's pay for an honest day's work and all the other homespun, colloquial cliches and euphemisms rather than peel back the veneer and seeing the truly grotesque racism, hatred and sense of privileged race entitlement that really fuels you.

OK, here you go. This is the second graph in Cohen's piece:

I live in a media bubble, I suppose, and this might account for my otherwise inexplicable innocence. But this is the way the president's opponents talk. It is rude. It is crude. It is disrespectful and it is downright nuts - but it is not limited to radio talkers. It is the lingua franca of the Republican Party.

I posted this:

He should hear Harry Reid talk about the Koch brothers. That's good stuff, too.

That is to say, his media innocence is not limited to the right-wing ranters, but also to crazies on the left like Harry Reid, who has been foaming at the mouth about the Koch brothers lately.

You see, it was in direct response to TFA, like I said once before to you.

It's cute you think a center-right leaning politiican like Reid is a "crazy on the left." Or that condemning the selfish short-sighted anti-climate change rhetoric of the Koch Brothers equates to the non-issue the Republicans are making over Benghazi.

You see, it was in direct response to TFA, like I said once before to you.

But racist. Hate the poor. Climate denier. Your view of the world is very narrow. But hey, it's you. Embrace it.

No, more like you don't seem to think that making statements like yours bring any consequences. And yeah, your glib dismissal of Reid's remarks do make me wonder if you accept the scientific consensus on climate change or whether you have any sympathy for people struggling under the poverty line.

2014-05-19 03:16:28 PM
Cletus C.: foaming at the mouth

If it's not legitimate, Koch apologists have a way of shutting that whole thing down.
