She was a good Secretary of State.  She provided an exceedingly popular face to the world, kept us out of wars, and progressed a lot of long term peace goals in what have been historically unstable regions.

The article provides a link to a list of 11 accomplishments compiled by a pro-Hilary PAC.

I can see why Karl Rove is frothing into santorum.

Also, I'm beginning to see Benghazi as a positive for her.

She (or really the administration) advocated for more security money than congress allocated, but then listened to the Ambassador when he turned down some extra security to make a better impact on the Syrian people.  After the sad loss of life, she and her State Department listened to the families and refused to politicize those deaths, even when it might have been politically expedient to do so and in the face of Republicans trying to turn it into a political scandal.  She focused on what actually happened and looked at the best ways to prevent it from happening in the future, regardless of talking points about the video.

While I have nothing against Hillary, I really don't want another Clinton in the White House. Our country seems to be devolving into a set of dynasties that are trading the presidency off between themselves. That disturbs me.

I spent my ride into work this morning listening to a father being interviewed on NPR about losing his son in Iraq. He has a foundation now that is based around "if not me then who?" it was sad but there was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq and his son was killed not defending his country but invading a country that posed no threat to the US.

Um... there's not really much there, she was generally competent but in no way exceptional.

Nothing there to attack, nothing there to laud as an 'accomplishment' beyond having some experience in the executive branch.  She basically followed orders from higher up and did it reasonably well, never really striking out on her own to do anything particularly noteworthy.

// As mentioned in the other thread, the reason I wouldn't vote for her is her  Senate career and time as a Wal-mart rep pushing deregulation.  Her SecState time is kinda the one thing that doesn't count against her there.

Frankly, I don't think having this argument is your A game either.

They are playing an unwinnable game of 20/20 hindsight, using a metric they have never cared about for any other diplomatic attack, making criticisms they scoffed at previously.

They didn't care about any of the many attacks on diplomatic attacks during the Bush Administration.  And they sure as well did not tolerate any second guessing of the Bush Administration's management of 2 wars.

But suddenly, and for the first time, mundane staffing decisions at a secondary outpost in Africa supposedly show a failure that goes all the way to the White House.

A favorite and particularly trolling question that conservatives love to pose to Hillary Clinton supporters is: Name one of her accomplishments as Secretary of State.

The 1990's might be old news, but Clinton's tenure at the State Department is in the very recent past.

These are valid points. Hillary never held public office in the 90's, and her record as Sec of State would matter if she were to run for President.

That is NO WAY means that the bullshiat they are sowing is called for in any way, but the story made it seem like you shouldn't want to look at her record as Sec of State, and that whatever she did as First Lady matters.

The TL,DR version, I guess is: "Throw a lot of shiat at the wall and see what sticks continues to be the GOP's go-to political tactic".

Hillary should play dirty with those filthy Republicans. They want to do hearings on Benghazi. She should sue them for lies and defamation over their lies regarding Benghazi. She must fight back, unlike John Kerry with the swiftboating, and Michael Dukakis with the whole damned 1988 campaign.

Did you read the article. It says that they DID fund it a lot lower rate than the Obama administration wanted. It was saying Barbra Boxers statement NOT HILARY CLINTON'S statements, was untrue because democrats helped the Republicans underfund the position, it wasn't just "Republicans".

You're lying on what it was actually fact checking.

Do you know Barbra Boxer and Hilary Clinton are not the same person?

The article does not say what you are pretending it says. that article says that it was defunded. It was just saying Barbra Boxer's characterization of it was wrong.
