(Hartford Courant)   Don't want mom and dad to know that you've dropped out of school and are not graduating even though they sent you thousands in tuition money? Calling in a bomb threat at graduation might not be the best way to hide it   (courant.com) divider line 4

Parents, the simplest prophylactic against this kind of stuff  is to simply have your kids pay for a chunk of their college themselves.

That education becomes a whole lot more important when it is their money being spent on it.

She called in the threats from her OWN phone?

Methinks a full college education wouldn't do her any good.

The mom paid the daughter's tuition directly to the daughter? Sounds like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. There aren't a lot of brain in this family.

A friend of mine didn't graduate when he expected to, thanks to flunking a class - but his parents had already paid for the cross country trip to watch him walk.

He lucked out that his prof hadn't posted the grades, and wouldn't be able to until after the graduation ceremony.  So, for all the school knew, he ~was~ supposed to graduate.

So he walked, and then, on his own dime, took the one class again the following semester, and this time got the C he needed to pass and actually graduate.

To this day, I don't think his parents know otherwise.
