a hologram of Michael Jackson performed "Slave to the Rhythm

They could have salvaged the whole show if the Ghostbusters came out and crossed the streams at it.

I'm a straight middle aged white American male. So no, I didn't watch it.

Oh is that why I didn't watch? Cool thanks for the explanation I thought maybe it was me.

Britney Spears did not perform

Ridiculous! Every moment of Britney's life is a performance.

Ya know what? I'd hit it. I'd even admit the year, too.

Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood rapping Lambert's new song made me cringe.

Yeah, I'd perform all over that.

ALL over it, and twice on Sundays. I'd even sneak in the back if it turned out that the main residence was too large for my tastes...

Are we talking about the young, hot Brittney Spears or the drugged out, head-shaving Brittney Spears? Because there's some saying about not sticking something in something else when that thing is crazy.

This morning was one of those occasions where I torture myself by flipping back and forth between Mtv and VH-1 at 5 a.m., seeing what passes for music these days as I try to coax myself out of bed.  Between all of the Ctrl-V bullshiat, I finally heard my first Pitbull track.  I know hiphop's parodied itself for a long time now, but Pitbull is proof that the joke's gone on way too long.

Miley Cyrus did a Beatles cover? What dumbass though that up? People young enough to be her fans were probably thinking, "WTF is this song? Sing something we've heard of," and anyone older was most likely cringing at Miley Cyrus was butchering a classic Beatles song.

This is just solid proof that we are living in the decline of civilization.

I normally love these things for the guitar porn at least, but it just sucked.

The original assignment was to write about the good points of the Billboard Music Awards but the article didn't take up enough space so they went the other way.

1. Yeah, probably right. Don't really know this jackass.

2. Shakira is actually pretty cool, too bad she farked this up. Why would she do this?

3. How does this girl count as a "Kardashian"? I've been trying to figure this out for awhile. And all kinds of people flub it on the cue cards. Big deal. Travolta's was worse with the 'Let it Go' chick.

4. Yeah, I'll give you guys that one, too.

5. People wear weird shiat all the time.

6. They mentioned that she was "across the pond", they even noted it at the bottom of her farking number. Now who can't read?

7. No, the more said about this, the better. Regardless of the choice of performer, that hologram is extremely impressive, it's getting better every time I see it.

8. Don't really know why this matters, but OK.

9. This one either. Are you guys just trying to fill out your full '12' here?

10. Yeah, that wasn't that good, but people cover music poorly all of the time. We've got to stop with this 'Nobody put the Beatles in a corner' bullshiat. So it sucked, but I really think John Lennon's ghost is fine. Who the fark was that on stage with her. Looks like the dude from the Flaming Lips, but weirder.

11. I still don't understand the Robin Thicke thing, but OK...

12. BFD, who cares if Spears didn't perform? Sounds like another one to make the list fit.

ya'know what's funny. I've never heard of this guy except for on Fark.
I pretty much learned all I need to know. Apparently he went to Alaska or something, right?
Here in Canada we dress up like Queen Victoria & listen to funny music on days like today.

That would be Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips.  It's on their upcoming Sgt. Pepper's cover CD.

I saw about 5 minutes of it.

Oh Lord does Lorde suck. Her new song sounds like the other song and she convulses the whole time while singing

Yes, but she's the deep, artsy pop star, who's like, totes goth. So you have to respect her. Or something.

Would've been way cooler if they'd gone with a young Michael for the hologram, then brought out the other Jacksons for a Jackson 5 reunion. But no, that would actually be good, can't have that.

She is their step-sister.  Daughter of Bruce Jenner and the Kardashian mom.

OK, so not really a Kardashian, but still influenced by the clan... I still won't hold misreading a teleprompter against her... I might hold myself against her, she's pretty hot.

No, they should have had a 5 year old Michael getting molested by post Pepsi fire Michael.
