(NBC New York)   Note to oxy thieves: those pill bottles you stole from the drugstore just might be cleverly disguised GPS devices that lead the NYPD right to your Jeep Compass, and those guys tend to be a little shooty when you draw a gun on them   ( divider line

That's odd...When NYPD gets all shooty, usually it is the innocent bystanders that end up with gunshot wounds...

Yeah, that one whole time that happened.  You know, when the cops were confronted with an armed lunatic and had no choice but to shoot at him. It's not their fault the guy decided to go nuts in the middle of NYC. Try shooting at a moving target, especially one that's shooting back at you.  Let me know how you do, if you're not too busy filling your pants with poo.

To borrow a line, "You are literally too stupid to insult."

stratagos: Let me be clear: it is quite possible he was armed and reached for a weapon. It is also possible that he was *not* armed and reached to scratch his nuts.

Since shooting a guy scratching his nuts, even if you think he was reaching for a gun is going to be criticized, there will always be a gun

I know what you meant.  My point was that even if he didn't have one on him at that moment in time, he had used a weapon in commission of a felony.  If he hadn't already, he would have killed someone eventually.  No one should lose any sleep over this result.

I'm assuming the cops caught up to him when his Jeep broke down.

"He was killed and his gun was recovered".

Somehow that sentence seems odd.

Of *course* he had a gun! If he didn't have a gun, the use of lethal force would have been excessive!

Therefore, a gun *will* be recovered in any officer-involved shooting.

Every. Single. Time.

Robbing a small business owner at gunpoint for drugs?  Shoot him again, just in case.
