Of *course* he had a gun! If he didn't have a gun, the use of lethal force would have been excessive!

Therefore, a gun *will* be recovered in any officer-involved shooting.

Only if there is coordination, otherwise it may be that multiple weapons will be recovered.

That's because the truth would have been a very long run-on sentence.  "He was killed because this was the fifth time he robbed this place and, frankly, we were just plain tired of farking with him so we killed his ass and, after-the-fact, realized he was armed so his gun, which coincidentally is untraceable and looks strangely like one of the dozens we have in the evidence locker, was recovered."

Let me be clear: it is quite possible he was armed and reached for a weapon. It is also possible that he was *not* armed and reached to scratch his nuts.

Since shooting a guy scratching his nuts, even if you think he was reaching for a gun is going to be criticized, there will always be a gun

I know what you meant.  My point was that even if he didn't have one on him at that moment in time, he had used a weapon in commission of a felony.  If he hadn't already, he would have killed someone eventually.  No one should lose any sleep over this result.

Is this a recent trend in decoy oxy? Sounds fairly clever. Only potential downside is that if this gets too common drug dealers may resort to robbing the customers, but that slows down things a lot.

Someone needed to pad out that sentence, is what I'm going with. It's not a direct quote, and it's right at the end, so I'm assuming someone was a few words short on their quota.

It never fails. When I go to the drug store for my meds, there's always one oxy-head in line waiting before me. Sure enough, there is always something "wrong" with the script and it takes the clerk 15 minutes to walk back and forth on the phone before coming back and saying; "there's something wrong with the script and we can't fill it." Next thing, the oxy head gets all fidgety and starts pacing back and forth, making excuses and getting all huffy and in a panic. Sure enough he starts yelling at the poor clerk and starts throwing things off the shelves and making a general nuisance and the yelling escalates and the poor clerk is now on the phones to call the cops to have the oxy head removed from the store.

Yup, never fails.

Had lithotripsy, and was told the stones would be ground into the size of sand grains.  Guess what?  NOPE!  Approx. 60 hours of hot fun in the summertime, as a large fragment made its leisurely trip down and out.  They gave me vicodin in case there were any problems.  THERE WAS A PROBLEM.  That shiat does not work on me, period.  No buzz, no pleasant feeling, no pain relief, no nothing.  I guess you have to mainline this shiat to get high.

An even worse plan is to crush the pills, dissolve them, and inject.  A relative of someone I went to high school with did this, and the time-release particles destroyed his veins.  He died an agonizing death a month or so later.

Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin.  Oxycontin is a continuous release, hence, "contin."  MSContin - morphine continuous.

In the last few years, the contins have had a reformulation which prevents immediate release.  At one time, crushing the pill was all that was needed - now it is significantly more difficult.

Oxycontin is just a brand name for a controlled-release formulation of oxycodone. The reason it became so popular with recreational users was because in the early days they could remove the time release coating, leaving them with a high dose of instant-release oxycodone that could be crushed and snorted or injected.

It is super-duper addictive. You be real careful with that shiat and I'm not kidding. My buddy's Pop had back surgery and was prescribed Oxycontin, and after three or four years somebody noticed he was still taking it, was up to about 20 a day and was buying it illicitly. He went through his entire retirement savings and had already borrowed too much from all his friends.

This from an old Jewish English teacher in his late 60s. It's common for folks to get hooked on it after something like that. The withdrawals are apparently worse than smack.

Different drugs works for different folks. I've been prescribed everything from codeine to morphine, and the one that gives me the best feeling of euphoria on top of killing pain is Percocet which is nothing more than oxycodone and acetaminophen. I have solo versions of both of those drugs, but neither works as well for me as that one-two punch. Perhaps a pharmacologist could explain why.
