Nine years Arsenal. Nine frigging years! COYG!

I don't think they'd sack Pep if they failed to get the double. He got them the Budesliga title in record time. Yeah it sucked getting knocked out by Real Madrid, but it would have been a different story if it was United instead, Madrid isn't exactly a cake walk. Bayern could have won, and no one is safe from blame on that one.

I'm, of course, going for Bayern to win, but it won't be easy. Both have been getting back in form, but when these two sides play there is really no telling. It doesn't matter which one has been dominate, when they meet it's always entertaining (save for the last match ;) )

It's clear that Mandzukic is causing problems again and that worries me (he won't be playing this match) would have loved to have him out there, but I'm more worried he's going to start looking for loopholes to get out of his contract and leave.

Thiago is injured as well, but save for this amazing bicycle kick to win mid-season during a "welp, we lost this one boys" match, his impact has been fairly minimal* -- but I expect that once he's fully healthy he'll be doing some amazing things at Bayern.

*Though he did set a Bundesliga record of 185 touches of the ball in one match :P I guess that's something....

I return from New York to discover that TalkSport have wiped the info for their Predictor game! Can anyone find different?

Arsenal will probably win, but if they're true to form they probably won't make it easy on themselves. I don't know who to pick in the Atletico/Barca game--everyone outside of Barcelona probably wants to see Atletico win to upset the two-horse race that La Liga has become. Bayern already won the the league easily, so I don't expect Pep is going anywhere even if Dortmund win. It would be a big disappointment for them, though.

Yep. Looks like they switched to their WC predictor and erased all the other info.

Here I was thinking I would not get to watch any football matches on a Saturday morning and I stumble upon the FA Cup broadcast.  I am hoping for an underdog victory for Hull City like what happened with Wigan last year.

I'm so nervous and hopeful I'm just a big bucket of twitch at the moment. Can't wait for this game to start. Hoping so badly that Arsenal will win. So terrified that they'll slip up or lose focus at the wrong moment.

I've been hopeful so many times...

Congratulations to FFPL winner nathanjr! In second place was Wynswrld and I filled out the top three, not at all bitter about losing the top spot, not even a tiny bit. No sirreee [sound of pencil snapping].

Thanks to all those who took part over the course of the season and I hope you had fun. It felt tougher this year in case you were wondering and I thought several of you came on marvellously.

FFPL will return for Season 3 - barring disacclamation otherwise - we can continue to develop our own language. There will also be two side competitions - a Cup format and an elimination.

Please end the drought. I beg you

2014-05-17 11:48:08 AM
Also, is there enough interest in a WCFFPL? Looks to be a similar system, but with a much shorter campaign-length?

If so, we'll need a logo, stat. Mr_H? I'm seeing a gold Fark Squirrel ala Jules Remy.

Does anybody know what will happen to the old one? Or, for that matter, what they did with the pre-1992 trophy? My guess would be the National Football Museum, but does anybody know for sure?

I put money on Arsenal -1 1/2.

I was drinking when I did it.

I'm sure you are going to be drinking now.  Good grief what a deflection.

Does Eric Wynalda have brain damage from heading the ball too much, or is he just naturally this stupid? It's like listening to my uncle who doesn't actually know much about soccer, but has decided that he wants to have a conversation about it.

Thanks for organizing it, looking forward to season 3 :)

Should have known Arsenal jinxed themselves scheduling their own parade early.  That would have been great money too.

She now works for the Secret Polis [Hi Nicki!].

We need a red card. Who's the referee?

Fight, boys. No tears at Wembley today. Get on top of the ball, press for possession, tackle hard when you lose it. This is a cup final. This is nine years of no trophies. Get back in there and take it.

Or concede a corner from 30 yards away

Heh. If Arsenal shiat the bed against Hull City, Wenger really needs to go (unless Arsenal are fine with guaranteeing a Champions League cheque every season). They're looking horrible.

More set pieces for Hull, and almost another goal for Hull.  Did Arsenal take their game plan from Sounders FC and last week's loss to New England, 5-0?

Has anyone ever Lane Kiffin'd a coach in England? AKA, the team bus leaves w/o the coach?
