Not all.  My former brother-in-law is 34 and hasn't even held hands with somebody let alone tried to breed.

Antidepressants might help, since they are notorious for diminishing people's libidos. It would have to be preferable to not desire something you are not getting, or not getting enough of, anyway.

It's easy. Have a high sex drive and hate most people.

This is the same research team that showed last year that sex addiction was not a thing:

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/is - sexual-addiction-the-real-deal-2 4 7423

Now they've shown that while it's not an addiction, some people respond to tamer images than others, and those happen to be the same people who have lots of partners:

So individuals have different sex drives, and the person's sex drive is a hardwired part of the individual. Surely there is nothing newsworthy about any of that.

There was a study a while back where they scanned the brains of individuals with musical backgrounds and those without. Then they had those who never played an instrument before take lessons. The next scan they did showed that their brains started looking more like the musicians' brains. Their brains were rewired.

Human brains are malleable. Is it the brain that causes the response to images or are the brains rewired by prior behavior?

Ugliness isn't always a deal-breaker. I have a panty-wetting crush on three of the ugliest farkers ever to set foot in a wrestling ring. I don't even like WWE but I watch it to fuel my fantasies. You just have to find someone who is into your particular brand of ugliness.

While I see youir point in general, asking if they shag a lot because they are easily turned on, or are they easily turned on because they shag a lot, strikes me as being akin to asking if someone eats a lot because they are always hungry, or are they always hungry because they eat a lot.

Also, learning an instrument is no doubt one of the most complicated things a person could do, I'm not surprised it might show on brain scans, but learning a new skill is not rewiring a brain. There may be more to that study that you have left out, but so far it's not all that remarkable.

I'm no brain pilot, but your comment about appetite is actually spot on. I don't know if they ever studied it, but if you take some who eats a lot a candy bars and give show them a snickers bar I would guess there brains would light up much more someone who generally eats healthy.

Has far as the brains study, as I recall they actually said new neural pathways formed. Their brains changed physiologically .

if you aren't having good sex you need to rethink your relationship, or most importantly, yourself.

Funny, that's exactly what I did.1  I'm bisexual and we're both poly so she also introduced me at one point to a similarly-minded and poorly-sighted male friend....

1 I have issues with the term "nympho".  I know you likely didn't mean it this way, but, historically, it's often been used as a slur on women who have what the speaker deems an unacceptably high sex drive.  Let's just say our libidos match well and leave it at that.

Well good for you on finding someone of like mind and drive.

I get what you mean, and generally i try to avoid female-specific derogatory terms, but i think guys can be nymphos too. The term has both positive and negative associations.

He never said sex itself was a curse, or a sin.

You can't understand someone who has a high sex drive being frustrated by being in love with someone with a low sex drive?

Yes they can, but while hypersexuality in women is called nymphomania, it's called satyriasis in men. There's your useless trivia for the day.

My interpretation of the term 'rewiring' in reference to a brain, is to make new but different pathways to do something that was done before, as opposed to creating new pathways for something new, like learning an instrument.  And yes it can be done.

I think you missed my point about appetite. I see being a aroused as being a precursor to sex, or at least it leads to sex seeking behaviour. In the same way that being hungry leads to eating, or at least seeking food. Eating lots of food does not make me hungrier, therefore I don't see shagging a lot making a person more easily aroused. People have sex because they're horny, as opposed to being horny because they have sex.

Having said that, your point on candy bars seems completely valid though, in that if you really enjoy sex a lot, it makes sense you'd be more easily aroused, as well as having an increased drive. Maybe the next study should be on sex drive and how it relates to the quality of sex.

I gotta think it comes down to circumstances. I've been fighting personal demons for years now and likely appear to be a total prude. Recent events have shown me it's definitely based on the person you're involved with... or not with.
