A student was given a wallet containing $141 and each bill was coated with luminescent powder. After some of the money was taken, officials search students for traces of the powder.

With what Florida schools pay teachers I am not surprised.

It seems a little weird to me that with the school paying for the theft kit that the coach himself wasn't informed of the thefts and said ploy to catch the thief. I would think a coach would want to know what the school plans to do about it, especially if he's committing it the crime.

What these stories don't have is a video of the 'Why don't you have a seat over there?' moment.

I'm sure that he knew that they knew, but no doubt he was a possible suspect from the beginning since he'd have access. The school correctly didn't let him in on the plan. Honestly it was really stupid of him since of course they're going to look at him when there are thefts in the locker room.

Must be nice to have cash to carry around while in high school.

As alluded to by Boo Guy, I was expecting a different kind of money shot altogether.

Hell an aunt of mine stole a few grand from the PTA she was running so she could go gambling at the Indian casino.

True story.
