Oh she is such a liar.  She wouldn't have had any problem if he or anyone else (male) had kissed a woman.

Desperate lashing out from a simple, scared woman.

40 years ago she would have been saying, "I have no problem with black people as long as they don't act so black."

She's already issued a half-assed apology:

I feel personally that I was not able to express my opinions appropriately without being interrupted. I felt like I was being painted to be something that I personally was not. Everybody that knows me knows that I love everybody, and I'm a deeply loving person, and I get choked up because I truly love deeply. Um, so with that being said, I felt like I had no choice but to get up, push myself out of the situation because we were going nowhere, as you probably saw, and we have a term around here that we say: we're going to Midland. And what that means, actually Suzie started this trend, and what that means is we're going to excuse ourself from the conversation...politely. And that's what I did. I just decided it was time to go to Midland. And I went to Midland, and I'm back and I'm a happy camper, and I"m ready to move on. Next. Let's talk about something else.

She claims she walked off because she wasn't allowed to express her opinions. Which may be true, but it's because her opinions were so farking hypocritical and stupid.

What a stupid biatch.

Reading her half-assed apology makes me despise her even more. If you're going to make an inexcusable stand, have some courage of conviction.

Do I particularly enjoy watching dudes make out? Not especially.

Do I use my limited 'fame' to spout ignorant nonsense as my THREE co-hosts all attempt to reason with me in an attempt to help me save myself from being on the wrong side of history and paint my rich, stepfordesque, biatchy ass as a victim?

Well, no. I enjoyed the infamous celebration as it was 'pushed in my face'. But then, while I have fleeting bigoted thoughts in my life, I try not to let them define me or hurt others.

There's a difference between "I think it's gross" and "I think it's gross and therefore it shouldn't happen." Her complaint seemed to be (hard to tell since they all talked over the top of each other) that she lets her kids watch ESPN because sports is full of good values like sportsmanship and teamwork and she's offended that they showed something she doesn't agree with. It wasn't being forced on her in public, it wasn't mandatory to tune in to ESPN to watch it. She made a choice to watch it/let her kids watch it, but thinks it should be censored to not show whatever she doesn't like.

And that's racist against homosexuals.

You're not picking on anyone by expressing you opinion. And that's pretty much what happened here. She expressed an opinion and then took her ball and went home when no one else would validate her opinion.

There have been thousands upon thousands of heterosexual sports couples kissing, and she chooses this one kiss to go on a rant.

Nah.

I don't like watching men kiss but the way she said it was extremely intolerant ('pushed in our faces') and her petulant exit tells the truth.

I also don't like smelling nasty people on the subway or listening to people talk excitedly and loudly in other languages..... Or any other of a million things people do to annoy me, but I ACTUALLY have a 'live and let live' attitude. You have a 'don't ask, don't tell' attitude. Oh, and a 'you should be grateful you're being tolerated' attitude. There's a lot of television channels to switch to if you feel uncomfortable joining us in middle stages of doing the right thing and welcoming homosexuals into first class citizenship like they deserve. We have a retro sitcom channel here my girlfriend watches 'Three's Company' on, but they have Archie Bunker for you if you want. Look into it.

Where do people get the idea that no one should be allowed to disagree with their opinion? You didn't want to see it. Fine. If you want to throw a fit because two gay people had the nerve to act gay in public, fine. But I can still tell you you're an a-hole for thinking that way.

Where to begin...

1)  She can believe what she wants and express those beliefs.  She did a particularly sloppy job, and yes I think she lied alot in doing so.  It followed that pattern:  "What about kissing a woman?"  "I wouldn't want to see that either."  "What about TV?"  "I don't watch TV."  Not believable, and reminiscent of schoolyard argument tactics.  So I'm not sure what she believes or why she believes it.  She did a piss poor job in expressing them and defending them.

2)  Born and raised, believed this for years?  Fine.  But that's a lousy excuse for bigotry of any sort.

3)  She was allowed to say all those things.  It is a TALK SHOW.  She bailed when she was losing.  That was her choice.

4)  I didn't say she was evil.  I think she's an intolerant person who did a terrible job at justifying her intolerance.

You are the intolerant one.  No one stopped her or you from giving your ugly opinions.  Just don't look if it offends you too much.  Or grow the hell up.  It's just two dudes kissing.  Honestly, these big, beefy football players grab each others buttocks in tight pants all the time, and no one cares.

varmitydog: Who is the intolerant one here?

And as a followup since a similar question back to a poster last week went nowhere.

Why is her right to express her opinion more valid than mine?  She thinks two dudes kissing on TV is gross and unacceptable.  I think her opinion is intolerant and outdated.

So I should just keep my mouth shut and she can continue to say whatever she wants without comment or consequence?

This goes beyond equal rights for homosexuals.  This is about equal rights to expression.  Why is her right to cast me and those like me as unacceptable and profane OK, but if I speak out against her I'm "harassing" her or making her out to be "evil?"

That is a massive double standard.

that was a quote from the broadcast. one of the women apparently has never heard the term homophobia, so she described it as 'racism toward homosexuals.' Its probably about as close to acceptance as these mouthbreathers are ever going to get

To be fair, she was trying to make a point about how years ago people would have had a problem with just a black person, let alone a black gay person, and she just couldn't find the phrase she was looking for in the moment.

If you watch the clip one or two of the women actually describe homophobia as "Racism towards Homosexuals".

Ahhh I must've missed that. They all kinda turned into screaming harpies by the end so I only focused on the one making the dumbest comments.

Thanks.

jonnya: Third rate Betty Draper on a fourth rate "the View". Seriously, is that show shot in a motel room?

No kidding. I'm guessing most people watching that crap just tuned in to find out what the traffic's like at whatever intersection is in the background.

varmitydog: scottydoesntknow:She claims she walked off because she wasn't allowed to express her opinions. Which may be true, but it's because her opinions were so farking hypocritical and stupid.

Diogenes: I can say that more concisely: "I was cornered in my bigotry and losing ground. So I took my ball and went home."

I disagree. Not to pick on the two of your but this sentiment that "you MUST agree that two men kissing in public is acceptable and you're just going to have to get used to it" is unacceptable. Tens of millions of people in America feel exactly the same that she does. She thinks two men kissing is gross and freakish. This lady has been born and raised to believe this. She is older and has believed this for years. Why is she not being allowed to say this? Why MUST she all of the sudden be harassed?

I have a live and let live attitude, and hate intolerance of all time. But what I don't see here is her intolerance for the gays--she made no slurs against them. What I see here is the politically correct intolerance for her opinion. All she said was what literally millions of others think, have thought all their lives and will forever think, that the sight of two men kissing grosses them out. And you make her out to be this evil person.

Who is the intolerant one here?

Let try to make you understand by demonstrating your argument to you.

Not to pick on you but this sentiment that "you MUST agree that being openly bigoted towards homosexuals is acceptable and you're just going to have to get used to it" is unacceptable. Tens of millions of people in America feel exactly the same that I do. I think freaking out about two men kissing is gross and freakish. I was born and raised to believe this. I am in my late twenties and have believed this for years. Why am I not being allowed to say this? Why MUST I all of the sudden be harassed?

Who is the intolerant one here?

See your argument is ridiculous.  We are expressing our opinion just as she did.  You can hold your bigoted beliefs, doesn't mean you won't get called on it.

Noticed you didn't post the pics of the Janet Reno or Rosie o'donut types sucking face. What kind of a bigot are you that you bias your voices by limiting them to hotties.

lol

You may not want to see, but tough shiat. Get used to it.

I really am surprised anybody notices this stuff anymore. The last kiss I found offensive was when Al Gore cleaned Tipper's tonsils during the convention. Staged and pathetic.
