Good for her.

Curious to know how much she was putting into her foundation herself or if she is going to rely on solely on others to implant and enhance her endowments.

Back when she first appeared in Playboy, before the plastic or the Hep-C. Definitely in her Molson midriff T-Shirt days. Not now.

But this is still cool.

Most recently, she ran the NYC marathon in support of Sean Penn's Haitian relief charity, raising close to $80,000 in the process  which came $1 at a time as she went bouncing by.

She isn't broke and never was. She still has plenty of residual money rolling in from Baywatch. She did have a gambling problem from what I remember, but she wasn't broke, more like living from residual check to residual and from trust fund check to trust fund check.

Film, television and sports celebrities all have 'foundations'.  Born This Way charitable foundation (guess who) is as follows:

$300,000 - strategic consulting
$62,836 - stage productions
$50,000 - social media
$50,000 - event coordination
$406,552 - legal
$150,000 - philanthropic consulting
$60,000 - research
$58,768 - publicity fees
$78,000 - travel
$72,000 - salaries
$808,661 - "other"
$5,000 - grants to organisations or individuals .. say what? Five Grand handed out?  $5,000?

Then there's Jimmy Savile and his charitable giving. And Bono. Wycliff Jean. MadonnaMary J. Blige. To name but a few. Just because she's 'announced it' doesn't mean it's a good thing. But then optics is more important than actual accomplishment. Buyer Beware.

ftfa: Anderson's launch will take place on a yacht off the coast of Cannes playing host to close friend Dame Vivienne Westwood's Cool Earth charity.

good, i was looking for a place to give some money to that might make it to charitable purposes, once the people i gave it to are done having parties on yachts in cannes.

B-list subby?  You're being way too generous.

Even in her best days she really wasn't any higher than a B-lister,  today she's at best a C or D.

OTOH, if you take *any* 20 year old girl and put her next to a 45yr old woman, you're going to see some differences. Neither side of the gender line ages all that gracefully, if we're honest..

Tax shelter.  You're paying 35% income tax.  Over 40% total in California.  So you give $1,000,000 to your foundation, it only costs you $600,000 net in reality then use it to fund all many of shady stuff and funnel expenses.  If I was rich I'd do the exact same thing.

Pamela Anderson may be a tawdry slut bomb, but suggesting that because she's famous, her charity must automatically be a tax avoidance scheme is a pretty freaking big brush.  Maybe she actually wants to, you know, make the world a better place.  Even slut bombs might not want to pick up the paper one day to discover that rhinoceroses have gone wholly extinct.

Not to say she's smarter than she looks, because she really isn't (she's very clearly dumb as a post), but I have to give the woman a lot of credit for having none of the usual self-delusions a lot of actors seem to have regarding their own importance.

Basically, I know that this is going to end up being some kind of retarded animal-rights thing instead of an actual conservation charity, but at least I can give her the benefit of the doubt on being sincere about using her remaining following to try to be helpful rather than stroking her own ego with a vanity project.

I liked it when she was replaced as the Tool Time girl, because brunettes > blondes

She may be a PETA spokesperson, but that woman has led to enough chicken-choking to feed Rwanda and Somalia with left overs for a Atlanta BBQ...

If the ASPCA new she was responsible for a global outbreak of monkey-spanking they would protest her...

Jenny McCarthy, Pamela Anderson, Anna Nicole smith.

In the mid-90s, those three women and the proto Internet killed like three cats a nights in my house.
