It would be interesting to see what happens when I see some of Toni Morrison's writing on my burrito wrapper and I throw it as hard as I can into the face of the closest Chipotle employee.

As someone with a dearth of Mexican joints around me, and being a huge fan of Chipotle's soft tacos because I can't handle the super hot foods anymore due to my Sjogrën's (and their carnitas is mild), I'd just be happy if they'd open a store around here.

Chipotle's perfectly adequate, and better than most when you need to grab a meal in an unfamiliar place with limited options. As a big George Saunders fan, I think this is actually pretty cool, particularly if he gets a good payday out of it.

Whatever, man, there is nothing at all wrong with Chipotle.  They make it a point to source local produce when they can get it, you can watch them grill actual raw steaks and chicken.  You can still see the bay leaves in the pork braising liquid.  This isn't frozen and reconstituted fast food.  If you don't like the flavors then whatever, but calling it "low grade dogfood" is just a bunch of bandwagon BS.  If Chipotle wasn't a chain and instead served the same food at some shack in Seattle run by some 20-somethings, the food hipsters would be Yelping constantly about it.

Chipotle to put original short stories and essays by literary luminaries such as George Saunder, Toni Morrison, and Jonathan Safron Foer on their drink cups, chip bags, and sandwich wrappers so people can have something to read while eating choking wet 8-balls on the porcealin irone throne after eating one of their terribly-made ball-shaped burrito-like monstrosities.

There's plenty wrong with chipotle but I champion any restaurant that makes your food to order while you wait in line. Same deal with subway. No farking around, no waiting for ages for your order, no slopping on ingredients you specifically ask them to hold, no discovering they're out of chicken and offering you something else after you paid, no one completely forgetting your order, no priority for the drive-thru - it's the optimal way to order food.

There really are some weak-assed spicy food eaters in here. I've been eating at Chipotle since there was only one store. I get two dips of hot and spread of pico de gallo on my burritos, and it's awesome. Their guacamole makes me feel naughty. Just so good (channeling Ralphie May here).

Our kids don't seem to want to eat anywhere else. I'm on about 20 years of nearly weekly Chipotle, and never a case of any GI issues at all.

Not liking Chipotle is fine but that has to be the stupidest reason for it. In-n-Out doesn't sell "authentic" German-style ground beef sandwiches either. Who cares, it's delicious. It is authentic food.

I agree that their Carnitas is solid. Haven't tried the Barbacoa, but now I will if I go back. My issue is that I detest rice and bean burritos. I don't mind their tacos. Their salsa is meh, IMO, but not awful. Local mexican places are better, but their meat probably isn't as good for me.

If they were to obtain Baja Fresh's salsa, it'd be much improved, IMO.

DaShredda: Why do so many farkers shiat themselves?

I don't understand this phenomena either.  I eat burritos w/ fresh chilies and hot sauce all the time (even when I was young), and had no problems.  Now, if there's dairy in the burrito, I'll have problems (being lactose intolerant), but I do so maybe once every other month, b/c I can't live w/o dairy.

/however, one can't get around the flatulence if beans are involved.
//maybe you have to start eating spicy food as a child?  idk.

I don't, normally.  And I eat food that would melt your face off.

Something about Chipotles particular type of hot sauce didn't sit well with me that day.  Which is also weird, because I very, very rarely get intestinal distress.
