Alright.  Its time for Indiana to start playing like they want to be there...not out fishing.

Rooting for both the Wizards and the Clippers, because game 7s are awesome

Lost Thought 00: game 7s are awesome

Hell yes they are. The Clippers have it in them to win another. Who knows if the Wizards will win, depends on which Pacers team shows up. Some days they're the Globetrotters, other days they're the Generals.

I think the Wizards will be bringing it tonight, at home, and will push that series to a game 7. Unless they drop another 63 point turd... I'm not sure what to expect in the LA vs. OKC game though, with the way they have been ending it is anyone's game. I hope LA wins though so we get a game 7.

The games are on ESPN tonight, not TNT.

Thanks, man!

Have we received any word on Parker's injury yet?  And Kawhi Leonard is pretty farking good.  Jesus.  That Leonard for George Hill trade is looking pretty good at the moment.

I honestly dont even know how to call the ECS tonight.  Will the Pacers or the Wiz shoot like shiat?  Will both teams actually show up tonight?  Should I have submitted this as a headline?

I wonder which Pacers team is going to show up this time and is it the Thunders turn to piss away a lead late in the fourth quarter.

Cribbed from another thread:

Toal FTA: Clippers/Thunder (bold for home team and team that won game in parentheses)

Game 1: 30/23 (Clippers) +7 Clips
Game 2: 23/22 (Thunder) +1 Clips
Game 3: 25/28 (Clippers) +3 Thund
Game 4: 29/34 (Thunder) +5 Thund
Game 5: 20/36 (Thunder) +16 Thund

Weird that the away teams received more FTA in the first 4 games.  If I were the Clips I would be throwing the ball into Blake early and often and attack the basket - They need to get their share of home cooking.  I am interested in seeing how all three teams come out tonight.

I haven't been able to find any updates about Parker's hamstring. Duncan said in the post game interview keeping him out of the game was just precautionary, but who knows if that is true. If LA/OKC goes 7 that will give him a week of rest. If Parker isn't at full speed, I have to think the Spurs will be hoping to face LA. Paul isn't nearly the athletic freak that Westbrook is, but I bet the Spurs would hide Parker on defense like they normally do anyways.

I picked the Wiz tonight, but you are right. Who knows? These teams look so good some nights, and then awful the next. I just hope one of them can make the Heat finally break a sweat in their run to the Finals.

Not looking forward to any of them.

I think that it's odd after this "OMG best playoffs evar!!1!" we supposedly have been treated to that we may very well be looking at 1 vs. 2 in both conferences.  After all is said and done, the cream always seems to rise to the top in the NBA playoffs.

NBA is definitely a low-variance sport just because there are so many scoring opportunities that it's rare for statistical deviations to have significant impacts on the outcomes. Whether that is good is a personal preference thing. I find both styles of sport enjoyable in their own way.

Yeah.  The message of the article seems to be that he doesn't want to stay in Portland.

He has Dallas Mavs written all over him doesn't he?

I didn't pick up on the "he doesn't want to stay in Portland" message at all, and I don't think that's necessarily the case, but I do agree that if he goes anywhere it'll be Dallas for sure.

I think that 25k was to cover for his team's meltdown. CP3 was uncharacteristically sloppy but where was Blake in all that? Get the ball into the post and get some points the easy way.

I want the pacers to lose this series. I'd also like the thunder to lose, but lets be honest the clippers were lucky to get by the warriors who had a management self destruction.

Thunder Spurs should hopefully be a real series. Pacers Heat won't be if the Pacers keep playing "I hate my team, I love my team, I HATE MY TEAM!!!"

Yep. I was insanely pissed off but not really at the refs. That wasn't what cost the game...at all. My best guess is that at some point in the last 2 minutes Chris and Cliff Paul switched places.

Is Blake an MVP caliber player though? Has he shown that he can be a lebron, or dwayne wade, or a westbrook? I dunno I haven't seen him make those moves yet.

I don't think Blake will ever be an MVP but he came in 3rd in the voting this season which suggests to me that he should be able to take over and win at least one playoff game. I have a stupid theory that a great player should win you two games in a series, a good player should win you one, and your "team" (bench, collective effort) should get you one. I admit to not having tested it as I thought it up a few days ago. I will report on its vilidity later haha.

Nah it was a big game. CP3 is pretty famous for chocking in the big games.

2014-05-15 07:52:55 PM
I think Blake really took a step up in his game, and his stats and MVP votes showed that, but right now Lebron and KD are so far ahead of the rest of the league in what they are doing, 3rd might as well not even matter.

After all the hate the refs took the other night, as  Doogledshowed above, Paul clearly fouled on that 3 pointer, and even though the out-of-bounds call's reasoning was a bunch of garbage, the truth is that it should have been Thunder ball, and they got the ball. So Doc, you didn't get robbed, you left your flat-screen TV and PS4 out on the curb, don't complain because it was gone when you came back home.

Aw thanks! It always bums me out that the NBA threads are so desolate. My usual NBA-watching buddy just had his first kid so he's out of commission for a bit and my girlfriend barely cares (she only follows college ball). FARK's all I got these days for NBA games.

Yeah...at some point the supposed best point guard in the NBA has to be accountable for his teams' post-season successes or failures. Tonight may be a deciding game for him in that respect. Also a chance for Griffin to show that he merits superstar status (or whatever you want to call the space in between all-star and MVP).

That said, who knows what our bench can pull off if Reddick and Crawford's shots are falling.

You're lucky.  I can't get my girlfriend to care about basketball at all.  She only pays attention to the NFL to the extent that she might be in the room while I'm watching.  Getting her to stare at her phone while i'm watching a game is about the best I can ever hope for.

Sounds like my wife and any sport. Even football she cant' care enough to not make like five mistakes talking about the recent seahawks, who at best have 3 years of history.
