dittybopper: Important Note: I'm not advocating doing any of these things, because that would be a violation of the law, and morally setting up automated lethal traps is reprehensible. This is just a gedankenexperiment about the security implications of technology like that.
BowtoMogul: might even start a foam-dart arms race
dittybopper: Meh. All that does is shoot blindly when it detects a heat source.A better mod would be to make it an actual Sentry Gun that tracks targets and fires at them, like this :http://projectsentrygun.rudolphlabs.com/
carrion_luggage: Listen, we're all in strung-out shape, but stay frosty. We can't afford to let even one of those things in here.
Unoriginal_Username: I have one of these at my desk:It's lots of fun, my boss just shakes his head. Pretty good range on it too.Wish I could automate it.
KidneyStone: It wouldn't be very difficult with an Arduino, some IR sensors and a couple of servos.I was looking at all the parts I have here and was daydreaming about making a drone. Then I realized it wouldn't be hard at all to make an RC/Autonomous drone. Take off RC, flip a switch for the processor to take over, and use GPS and inertial sensors to fly a pre-programmed pattern.Until I saw it's very illegal and I don't want it getting sucked into a bizjet engine and killing everyone on board.
