Why stop there?  Why should a yellow cape enable a fat plumber to fly?  What exactly is it about the pits that kills Mario, seeing as he's fallen from incredible heights (in the 2D ones) without any harm?  What is it about knocking over a lot of enemies with a single shell that enables you to return from the dead?  Damn, now I want to play some SNES...

What if a comedian with his own TV show decided to COMPLETELY RIP OFF a long-running Dorkly routine? SPOILER: copies are never as good as the original.

Well.

That was dumb.

But it's realistic that there are hovering blocks which, if punched, produce dinosaur eggs.

Does no one understand the subjunctive mood?

"What if Yoshi was a real dinosaur" ==> Yoshi used to be a real dinosaur in the past, but no longer is.
"What if Yoshi were a real dinosaur" ==> a hypothetical imagining that Yoshi is currently a real dinosaur**

Comedians and Pearl Jam should not be relied upon as models of correct grammar.

**This one is grammatically correct

You know when you read a headline that might be funny, and then you click on the video hoping it's funny, and then it's really, really not funny? I hate that.

So how does shiat like this get greened, yet Epic Rap battles of History rarely, if ever, get greened?

If by ripping off you mean paying the same animators who developed the bit to do it again, you are correct.
