If the Bruins were jobbed solely by the officiating, I would have backed them 100% if they walked right into the dressing room without the handshakes. But they shut down after Game 5, and you can't blame the refs or the crossbar for that.

That said, you do the handshake and the sportsmanship stuff.

This is why all NHL games should include a pistol for each side with two or three shots in it.  There would be no more need for fighting.  Everyone would show a little more respect if you could shoot someone on the other team.  Sure, a few players might die, but that's the risk you take with a sport like hockey.  They already live by a warriors code...

I think I heard elsewhere (the article was pretty thin *I know, welcome to fark*) that he was pissed about an 'over exuberant' goal celebration.  Get over yourself, Mr. Chest Bump Celebration Man.  Go re-read the anti-bullying book you wrote too.  Ass.

Luccic was being an ass. He's being a poor sport

Dale Weise is being an ass by making a big deal of it.

Not to let Lucic off for being an ass, because some should tell him to appologize and then take him out to the zamboni garage and beat him.

But you won Weise. biatching about it to the press is just as poor a sport. And all you have done is paint a bullseye on your back. It might have been just a poor sport throwing a tantrum before, but you just made sure that he's gonna come for you. Kinda reminds me of Chara/Pacioretty. Chara was gunning for him for a whole season, and Pacioretty was ducking him. Until Chara nearly broke his neck head hunting:

No, I'm not celebrating someone nearly getting killed. But lets also remember that Chara didn't get fined or suspended, because it wasn't a super dirty hit either.

What  I'm saying this shiat gets out of hand. Lucic was an ass, and that's not cool. But he was acting like an ass after a tough loss. It's not acceptable, but Weise is no better. You won, why the fark do you care is the loser disrespected you. You beat him, let him fume on the golf course.

Good try, Habs fan.

1. I didn't excuse his behavior.
2. Two - the player in question is not a native of Mass, he is a Canadian. So maybe you Canadians should try to act better.
3. I threatened him? Listen, my fat ass would last all of 1.5 seconds on the ice with him. I haven't skated in forever, and he would knock my ass out. So, I'm pretty sure I won't be the one headhunting.

No Weise is better because talking about it in the press lets everybody know what a scum bag Lucic is... if people didn't know due to his fine/suspension history.

It should have been pointed out because there's no place for assholes like Lucic in a professional sports league.

And just because Chara didn't get suspended doesn't make the hit any less awful.  Chara should have been given a year.

You are excusing his behaviour, despite what you say. Saying that Weise is just as much of an ass because xyz is your excuse. "He was a douche, but it's ok because the other guy is a douche too".

I never made any comment about where Lucic is from, just the mentality of the team he plays for.

I didn't mean that you personally were threatening him, but to insinuate that he deserves to get a cheap shot for calling out Lucic for his dumb ass comments, and then posting a photo of Chara breaking (yes, BREAKING, not nearly) Pacioretty's neck? You're practically giving your blessing for that type of goonish behaviour.

What Weise did to piss off Lucic was to mock him for his behavior.   Lucic acted like an asshole and Weise held a mirror up to his behavior, Lucic did not like it, and made threats during the handshake.  And Weise called him on it publicly.  There is no moral equivilency.  Lucic is in the wrong.

This really bums me out because I used to like Lucic.  I thought he was a physical but talented hockey player.  But, because of his actions (going for players nuts and his behavior during he series), I've come to the conclusion that he's an asshole.

2014-05-15 09:25:22 AM
From another article:

"The 2012 Bruins entered the playoffs with all the hopes of a defending Stanley Cup champion. They, too, lost Game 7 in Boston on a Wednesday night to another team that favors "le bleu, blanc et rouge."

There was something else notable about that Game 7 in 2012. Lucic played 19:50 without a shot on goal. He nearly duplicated that performance Wednesday with zero shots in 17:51 of ice time.Think about that. Two Game 7s. Two losses at home. A healthy 37:40 of ice time and zero shots on goal. And he's set to make $6 million next season.

"Frustrating," he said. "We lost. We let our fans down when we had a great opportunity with a team like this. Like I said, it's a tough one to swallow."

But Lucic was most angry at what was said by Montreal in the post-game handshake line. He reportedly told Dale Weise: "I'm going to [expletive] kill you next year."

Too bad he didn't feel that way about the puck. Glad to see Looch's priorities are in order. How about a vow to take a shot the next time he's playing a Game 7?"

That sums it up nicely.

No, you have completely missed the point I was making.
1. Lucic is an asshole for acting the way he did.
2. Weise is a poor winner for making a big deal of it.
3. That this shiat can get out of hand, and end poorly.

I don't think Weise deserves a cheap shot, but I think he has all but asked for one. The best bet is that the first game they play each other, Lucic throws the gloves down right away, Weise fights him, and they get this out of their systems.

And thats why I brought up Chara/
Pacioretty. It festered and Chara went hunting. I don't want Lucic/Weise to end up like Chara/Pacioretty .

Well, Pacioretty, after talking to Chara, said he didn't think Chara did it intentionally. But I don't know. I know I couldn't pull off what Chara did, even in my prime playing hockey. But I'm not a professional, and I wasn't there.

The whole reason I brought up Chara/Pacioretty is because Chara had a beef with him for a while. If you watched the game a month earlier(which got so out of hand, Thomas fought Price), Chara kept trying to get him. It became a thing, and end very poorly.

That's my problem. Lucic isn't justified at all, and he should apologize, but Weise isn't helping by throwing fuel on the fire.

robertus: Weise's Weeners to Lucic said pretty much everything that needed to be said: "See you in October."

Indeed.

/Weise's retort in the line.
//Weise better watch his weener if he's got Lucic after him.

SlagginOff: Actually, I would say that threatening someone in the handshake line is the type of shiat that ends poorly. But obviously if you're a fan of a team that employs a dirtbag player, you have to defend him, lest your fan card be revoked.

I admit I'm a homer. But I fully think Lucic is an asshole, and I currently am disgusted with his bullshiat this season. The nut shot, someone posted here a vine of him sneaking in a cheap shot.

That crap just pisses me off.

The handshake thing really doesn't. I honestly think it's a punk move, but I hardly think it;s worthy of calling out in the press.

The other shiat Lucic he should have his balls nailed to a chair for.

I think the best line I have heard about it is from Maine sports radio "The Big Jab".
"Oh, you're fired up in the handshake line? Too bad you weren't fired up in the 1st period."

BTW - Thanks for debating this with me all of you. Kinda like a period of mourning, it's helps to vent.

I don't excuse Lucic's behavior durring the series. The handshake thing is baby shiat. The Bruins should tell him to knock that shiat off, and fine him. I think making a big deal of the handshake disrespect is just stupid.

Publikwerks: MugzyBrown: Publikwerks: but it was awful because of where it happened, not because of how Chara hit him

Yeah, and a professional athlete is supposed to be aware of their surroundings and be able to control their body.

I'm sure Chara wasn't trying to break his neck, but he knew what he was doing.

So it was Pacioretty's fault? He should have allowed Chara to punch him in the face earlier so chara didn't have to push his head into th stanchion?

Chara had a beef with him because Pacioretty had the gall to score an overtime goal the game before and then gave him a little nudge because he was about to run into him.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw-6Ct2Q_2c

That's right, I forgot why. See, it's stupid shiat. And No, it's not Pacioretty's fault. But was WWI German's fault? Not really. It was a series of events that snowballed out of control. Chara and Pacioretty  snowballed out of control. Being a dick in the handshake line is stupid shiat, but by making a big deal out of it, it can snowball out of control.

That's my issue with Weise. This hardly warrants being brought up at all. Make a deal of it, and you're only going to make things worse.

BTW - make your final arguments.
I'm ready to wash my hands of this team for awhile as they had no heart in this series, and have left a sour taste in my mouth.
