Why didn't Sabretooth appear to recognise Wolverine when he came at him in the first film?

Yeah, they threw the comic book continuity out the window pretty early in the franchise.

Considering the horror that was the third movie, if Days of Future Past is any good I'll forgive them any continuity errors. It's not like they knew they'd be able to do a multigenerational movie like this one at some point and were intentionally screwing around.

I think that guy's accusations have been laughed out of everything. Singer has an alibi and he wasn't in Hawaii at the time. In other words, just another attention whore trying to get rich claiming he was a real whore.

I really don't want to forget this post.

I really want to know why you're happy continuing a slur that's been already been disproved. It's clear you believed it. It's clear you never thought the guy was lying. It's clear you never bothered to follow up with your assumptions to learn more.

So, let me ask you a few things.

1) Why did you automatically believe it?

2) Why did you not bother to follow up?

3) Why do you continue to pass on fake news?

4) WTF is wrong with a person who does the above?

5) Are you glad Cyclops died? Cause I am.

I guess Mr. Singer was too preoccupied with targeting, stalking and conquering under-aged, willing, male actors with cocaine, cheap booze, roofies and surprise butt-sex to actually care.

I'm not defending Bryan Singer at all, I don't know the guy and his movies vary wildly in quality and I'll never forgive him for changing the ending of Apt Pupil, but for god's sake, that dude who accused him of teen drunken rape has been wildly discredited by now.

You embarrass yourselves by repeating his lurid rumors more than he ever did.

Allow me to pick up the gauntlet...

1) Why are you commenting upon a lawsuit before the courts about which you know nothing more than TMZ and British Tabloids have printed?

2) Would you not think someone quite foolish to come to any conclusion regarding an ongoing legal matter for which they have not sat in court and personally assessed all of the evidence and transcripts?

3) Why do you continue to comment upon a legal matter and the character of the participants for which you have at best a third-hand knowledge?

4) WTF is wrong with a person who does the above?

5) Are you glad Keyser Söze is just a spook story criminals tell to their kids? I am.

1) I am responding to people accusing a man of teenage rape because of discredited testimony already. I don't have an issue with my moral high ground on that one.

2) Well, see, I HAVE court testimony that discredits him, and even the Daily Fail can't get this wrong:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2627703/Michael-Egan-suing-B ry an-Singer-rape-said-never-Hawaii-earlier-lawsuit-thats-explosive-alleg ations-took-place.html

3) Well I wasn't running into a thread calling someone a teenage rapist, was I? I think that's a bit more rude than giving a guy a bit of a doubt. What do you think about that?

4) See above.

5) Usual Suspects is overrated.

He's not referring to the comic book continuity. The movies didn't "throw it out", they were a seperate continuity from the beginning.

In the *movie* continuity, that's still screwed up as Sabertooth knew Logan in the Wolverine prequel.

Maybe because the alleged pedo rape occurred in the mansion of a Convicted Pedophile who held such teen rape parties?

Also, the case has not even gone to discovery and deposition...how are you so sure the plaintiff has been disproven?

2014-05-15 06:20:16 AM
All my endless posts boil down to this:

If you call a guy a teenage rapist, you better be damn sure why you're calling him that.

If you aren't sure the guy is a teenage rapist, don't go calling him one.

But yeah, I'm the radical. When did rape get so rapey anyway?

FloridaFarkTag: how are you so sure the plaintiff has been disproven?

Well as the link above points out, the plaintiff himself denies being in Hawaii under oath 11 years ago at the time.

So was he lying then or now? I know he was under oath the first time.

Truly you are the voice of reason.  That's why the comic book nerds and Star Trek fans will never listen to you.

"Canon" is for the creatively challenged, the people who need every plot point fully explained and every loose end tied up.  I say, welcome some ambiguity, accept what you like and discard the rest.  Hell, as far as I'm concerned there are only 2 "Alien" movies and 3 "Star Wars" movies, and I'll fist-fight anyone who tries to insist otherwise.

Has Bryan Singer had weird gay sex orgies? Maybe. I have no idea.

But I also have no reason to believe this one guy who already is recorded under oath as not being there. I would think any decent lawyer can work that out.

My meaning was not to accuse, but instead to comment that I'm sure Singer hopes that people forget the drunken twink rape accusations sooner rather than later. I never made any assertion about the truth or non-truth of the claims in question (as others have pointed out, there is more than one claim).

But it's also in the nature of the beast. As the old joke goes:

Sam Lefkovitz is having an intimate party to celebrate his thirty immensely profitable years in the construction business.  "You know," he laments to his friends, "over the years I have constructed dozens of enormous projects in and around this city, but am I known as Sam the Builder? No.
"And over the years I have contributed literally millions of dollars to charitable causes of one sort or another, but am I called Sam the Philanthropist? No, sir.
            "But suck one little cock..."

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the new X-Men movie, regardless of whether or not its director is a twink rapist.

The only reason "canon" is even an argument is because Gene Roddenberry was a cheap bastard - and rewarded a loyal flunkie with a job title rather than a pay raise. That decision is responsible for more nerd arguments than probably anything else in history.  Nerds would still be arguing about "continuity" until their fingertips bled... but if it wasn't for Roddenberry, "canon" would never even be in the conversations.

I absolutely hate seeing that term applied anywhere outside of Trek.
