With Hamilton's help, the girl was able to pull the car over.

How did he help, I wonder?

By restraining his natural instinct to shoot and/or taze anyone involved.

So, basically the cop was evaded by an 8 year old driver?

Is it obligatory for any woman famous for anything to be publicly pictured in a swimsuit or lingerie?

eeee-ROTIC!!!

A kid I went to school with once described our circle of friends as being more erotic that others. I'm pretty sure he meant erratic.

Huh.  Eight year old girl has a big set of balls on her, there, even as an adult I'd probably stay in my seat belt and just try to pull the driver's foot off the gas to slow the inevitable collision down.  The Simpson's method is too much potential extra bodily injury for my blood.

Good job pulling that shiat off, for sure.

Ok, while noting that the other answers are clearly more  awesome, the actual answer is most likely that he got in front of the other vehicle and slowly dropped the brake, a technique usually used to save somebody whose brakes are out put probably good for an unconscious person with a foot stuck on the gas, too.  This is something that the souped-up police cruisers are very good at, and if you learned to drive in a state with a lot of mountain traffic like Colorado you may remember it from your drivers' ed class.

Many police cars are even specifically armored to be able to stand up to low-level collisions like this, and essentially be used as rams or traffic guides in the absence of proper equipment.

// Technically it was in your driver's ed class/driver's manual state regardless, you're just unlikely to remember it unless you live somewhere where brakes burning out is a big hazard.

fark it I'll say. You're not a hero saving your own skin.

If he wasn't able to stop the car with his, mostly likely he just talked to the girl through the window and told her what to do.

/other answers were awesome though

Well, being only eight years old she couldn't possibly have a license, so they'll probably find something to charge her for.  Oh well, there's always the outside possibility they'll just let her off with a warning.

Are you sure he didn't plant some dope and a throwaway gun to give himself a reason to arrest her.  And, the gun for the justification for shooting her, her mom and of course, the dog.

This. Also, the little girl was just doing her job. That's what they pay her for.

When I was a kid, I used to have nightmares where I'd be sitting in the car with a parent, and they'd disappear, and I'd have to figure out how to stop the car on my own.

Eventually, somebody explained how the pedals worked and I worried less.

When I was her age I heard about a little boy who did the same thing. For a long time after that I was hoping my mom or dad would pass out at the wheel so I could save the day and be a hero. Never happened fortunately.

My folks didn't really wait until they'd passed out to teach me how to drive. I distinctly remember sitting on my (conscious) dad's lap at about four or five years old and steering his truck around curves (I miss the 80s). They also taught me to listen to the engine to tell them when to push the clutch so I could use the shifter to switch gears. Dad being a motorcycle rider also helped, since he taught me SIPDE well before I got my permit.

/there's a reason I'm a damn good female driver

What is WRONG with this officer? Why did he not act like he was programmed to and taze then beat the woman senseless? and then accidentally shoot the little girl for coming at him with something in her hand that may vaguely resemble some sort of weapon?

I'm disappointed.
