However, Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter already has said he intends to appeal the case, meaning an appellate court could still put the weddings on hold.

What butch otter may look like:

Hey now, we're not the most regressive state in the nation. Thank God for Mississippi. But thank you judge Dale for dragging us into the 21st century.

And yet my state, Oregon, still bans it. Never thought ID and UT would go for it before we would here.

Yeah he's going to "appeal" his brand of bigotry one level higher.
I'd love it if the Governor were forced to resign like the CEO of Mozilla.

Can't wait until all this bone zombie stuff is over. Why would anyone oppose gay marriage anyway? Never understood why someone would be bothered by where someone else puts their wiener. Hopefully then gay people too will just shut the hell up about their gayness. Just don't need to hear how special you are because you are gay. Do you want to be equal, or fabulous?

It's not like they went WILLINGLY. A judge pretty much had to tell them "no you cannot have these rights for some people and not others".

Don't all regional cities?  If only because it makes life easier than living around a bunch of judgmental hicks.

Good. Now that lesbian vet can have her wife buried with her at the state veterans cemetery. She better die quick though, in case it gets overturned.

Well, first there's the minor matter of actually allowing them to do things like get married, not be beaten to death, not be fired for having a spouse. Once they've had a couple decades of that, I suppose we can start asking them to keep down the noise a bit. Until then, I think we maybe oughta understand if they feel a little excited about the novelty of being treated as actual human beings.

I am an Idaho Resident.

I expect that Judge Dale will refuse to issue a Stay on her decision.   I also expect that the 9th Circuit will also refuse to issue a stay.   I expect the Idaho Attorney General to request a Stay from the US Supreme Court, who will also refuse to issue a Stay.

On Friday at 9:05, in some courthouse in Idaho, a gay couple will be married.

Why should they have special laws against being hurt? If someone hurts you, does it matter why they do it? Never understood this crap. Punch me for being a jerk, or for being a pole goblin, is there a difference?

Otter cited the state's constitutional amendment banning freedom for black people.
"In 2006, the people of Idaho exercised their fundamental right, reaffirming that slavery allows ownership of members of the negro race," he said in a statement. "Today's decision, while disappointing, is a small setback in a long-term battle that will end at the U.S. Supreme Court."

OMG, the people  voted! They exercised their  fundamental right! Why don't you libtards believe in  fundamental rights?!

This is actually, kind of the point.

Homosexuals don't want to be special. They don't want special rights. They just want to be like everyone else. Not in the sense that they want to have vanilla sex on Wednesdays and special holidays like WASPs, but that they can marry that special someone, get a house, have some cats and dogs, maybe join the Chamber of Commerce, have vacations, retire, and have a life. THAT'S the "insidious gay agenda" right there. To be normal. Not pointed at. Not singled out. Just to laugh, and go out to eat, and walk their dog, maybe go to the Unitarian Society or another church that doesn't call them ebbil just for existing. They want to dance with their honey, they want to be able to have their kids go to prom, they want to cheer at baseball games--or softball if they're lesbians, because that's their game--and go on vacations, go to movies, pick over produce at the Farmer's Market, bicker with their spouse about trivial sh*t, and have a f*cking life without folks getting all up in their business, because they dare to be out and about, and not hiding like Anne Frank.

OTHER people make homosexuality "special" by being offended when a man kisses his boyfriend when he finds out he made it to the NFL. He had a moment where he was happy, and he kissed the most important person in his life. Just like pretty much anyone else would. It was a sweet moment, that other people pissed on and made "controversial" despite the fact that they'd have been charmed if he kissed a girl instead. OTHER people make it special. Gays and lesbians, they just want to be able to live their lives without folks MAKING them special.

You want to not have homosexuals made to be special? Then maybe it's time we started treating folks with some equality and f*cking dignity.

It takes a special kind of derp to equate allowing same-sex marriage with allowing slavery.  That's not cranking the derp up to 11; that's cranking the derp up to 255 and hoping for a stack overflow.

Yeah, it's terrible when people take all the fun out of things like Chuckahomo Bridge...

It's not a Liberal or Conservative issue. My support of marriage equality ISN'T about Liberal or Conservative issues. It's the right thing to do. Because folks are citizens, and they deserve the same rights as others. Because they're citizens. Not because they've suffered more. Not because they're special. Because they're the same.

It's not about Liberal or Conservative. It's about being human beings. Some of us just think that we all deserve the same rights, and that some folks have maybe been denied that for too damn long, for spurious reasons that have nothing to do with the issue at hand.
