That was pretty close to the first thing I thought too.  STOP USING THAT WORD!

The kid is impressive, but whoever picks out his music for him should be executed at dawn tomorrow.  The people who made that so-called music should be executed immediately.

Ok... that's not too bad. To be fair, though, he's only 6.

Sure, a butterfly yoyo. But that's cheating, really.

Yes, but can he drink a lot of tequila without throwing up?

I didn't think so.

Shame to see a six year old boy who's never going to get laid by a woman, or a man... ever.

You bastard!  I did not remember that particular Mitch Hedberg joke so I've just spent the last 45 minutes watching old Mitch Hedberg videos.

And what's interesting is I saw one from 1995 and he was kind of lame back then.  But even later when he got funnier probably about half of his jokes just fall flat on their face.  It's so not funny that it is funny.

I think it was his delivery that had a lot to do with it.  You are now reading my post in Mitch Hedberg style.  See, isn't that funnier?

When he was on, he was hilarious and when he wasn't , he was still at least mildly amusing.

He's clearly very skilled, but as far as I can tell it's just the same dozen or so moves in various orders.

Hell, as far as I can tell, EVERY yo yo routine is just the same dozen or so moves in various orders.  It just becomes an endurance contest...how long can you keep doing it until you fark up?

Maybe there's a limit to how many really unique things you can do with a yo yo.

I happen to agree with you there.
The kid can obviously do all of the basic one hand string tricks - which are very easy to do when you have a precision balanced transaxle.  But if you ask me, he doesn't look like he's enjoying what he's doing.  He looks bored, even angry.  I look at him and think to myself that I wouldn't ever want to play with a yo-yo.

He does make it look as if there is a limit to how much you can do.  I've seen much better players than this.  Players who seem to actually enjoy what they are doing, and who do things you wouldn't have thought were possible.

I once stopped an alien invasion with a yoyo.

Isn't it time that we stop being amazed when little Asian kids do something awesome?

We get it, Asian parents put a lot of energy into pushing their kids into being the best at stuff.

But when they get older and are all burnt out people wonder why they like to jump from tall buildings or out of their classroom windows or into the path of a subway train...

I'd rather my kids be a little less amazing at the yo-yo and a little more mentally healthy as adults.

Six, huh? That makes me think that it must be easier than it looks. I could probably do it. If I wanted to. Yeah, I can do that. So what?
