Unfortunately, those are the games where everyone sees it and, instead of being amazed by it, they start saying "well hell, why doesn't he do that EVERY game?"

But hey, Joe Johnson is right, outside of LeBron and Wade, the Nets have a better team than the Nets.

Hell, the Heat could have Wade and they'd still lose.

cheap foul calls do not equal talented play.

nevertheless, I think lots of athletes forget they've been playing too long.

/paul pierce could kick my ass from the parking lot.

I think the Nets are probably equal in skill to the Nets, and I wouldn't expect the Heat to trade the Heat for Wade any time soon. :)

Dammit I can't leave a sentence midway through to concentrate on something else and then re-read what I wrote to make sure I complete the sentence properly! This is the internet!

/but the last sentence was to imply that really, outside of LeBron, the Nets are better than the Heat. No need to include Wade in there.

It was schadenfreudelicious.

Lebron is lucky he has Mario Chalmers on his team, because if Chalmers guarded Lebron, he would've scored 0 points and faked an injury in the third quarter and left the game. Without Chalmers, there is no "King  James".

Are we sure Deron Williams is a better player than Chalmers right now?  No, I am not playing up the SUPER NINTENDO meme, I am asking a serious question.  That guy is dreck and I hate watching him play.  Did you see the lay up he missed with the game on the line last night?  Guys who get paid 100m dont miss that lay up.  Guys who are paid to play basketball dont miss that layup.  The Nets are not a legitimate contender because Deron Williams is a big name with no balls.

Joe Johnson is probably the second best player in the series.  The Heat have the next two in Wade and Bosh.  The Nets have Pierce next maybe.  I am not sure the scouting report is all that important in the Playoffs.  What is important is a guy knowing their job and doing it.  The Heat have that.  The Nets have that too, I think.  This series comes down to super star play and Williams/Johnson can't hold LeBron/Wade's jocks.

/I am sure I am forgetting people
//Super stars mean more to a series than just getting to the line

So if you take away 2 of their 5 starters, the Nets are better.

Ok.

Nets are very average and it was obvious to anybody watching the Toronto series that the Heat were going to eat their lunch.

Which is the joke. Which is why we make fun of Joe Johnson saying that.

Hey, if you take away all the players on their roster, my intramural basketball team is a better team than them.

SquiggsIN: I hate Paul Pierce and Garnett but, I was actually rooting for the Nets last night.

/go Pacers!

I watched Kevin Garnett put his feet under the same player's jumpshot twice then punch the same guy in the nuts on another jumper. I believe he received all of one technical foul.

He wasn't suspended a single game. Interestingly, their next game was against the LA Lakers (years ago) in a nationally-broadcast Sunday game. Odd, huh.

Nah the Heat have a better bench than the nets.  Heat still have Ray Allen.  The heat also have better defenders outside of LeBron than the Nets.  Cant win if you cant score.

He's made a nice life for himself, though. Earns the GDP of Monaco yearly, while playing the game as if he has a severe allergy to physical exertion and faces immediate death if his body begins to perspire.

Oops I got that wrong. Garnett was ejected but he wasn't suspended at least not for the next game against LA Lakers. I figured after a night of play like that he should have been suspended.

I actually feel bad for Pierce having to play with Antoine Walker during Walker's "prime".

I seem to remember the summer Olympics being rife with jokes about Dmitry Sautin slipping cleanly into the water like a knife.

He left the court in the Finals and people like to call him a drama queen. I really don't see any other reason to dislike Pierce unless you are a Celtics fan and he WON'T PASS THE BALL AND SETTLES FOR AN ISO JUMPER!!!!

Exactly, but you see why that info is important to mention when "people think he's a drama queen."

Went off the court in a wheelchair, only to come back in a quarter later. Stuff like that gives morons like buckeyebrain ammo for their "it's all scripted" crap.

This is true.  I have never seen him speak to the situation but I am sure it has something to do with it being a faster way to get to the back or not wanting to fark it up worse.

It definitely was unexpected haha.

I've disliked him since he faked that knee injury against the lakers in the finals, and then came back into the game and acted like he was a hero for doing it. I really dislike the Kobes but he got me rooting for them.

Then later in the night some guy at the bar who rooted for the Celtics told me all about how great he was.

Me - "That was stupid, are you even from Boston?"

Him - "Fark you, no. Are you?"

Me - "Yes."

Him - "I'll kick your ass."

FTFA: LeBron went right into Pierce's chest, drawing a foul and sending Pierce flailing and stumbling across the lane as if he'd just taken a Bruce Lee kick to the chest-here is where we pause to remember that Pierce, at 6-foot-7 and 235 lbs., is not a small man. This play was an omen of things to come for Pierce, who spent the entire game bullied into foul trouble by LeBron and unable to do much of anything on the defensive end.

Oh look, it's like a snapshot of everything that's wrong with basketball.

Even With A Chainsaw: Oh look, it's like a snapshot of everything that's wrong with basketball.

Yeah, it's much better in football when a lineman is destroying an offensive lineman to the point where he has to hold on every play just to have a chance. Or in hockey where a guy sets up in front of the net to set a screen and the defensive players are unable to clear him out without cheap shots.

When you're old and slow like Pierce is, you can't keep in front of guys and play proper defense so you end up reaching a lot and getting hit with a bunch of fouls. Of course, the article is written stupidly.
