That's awesome.  And I'm only able to watch a little of that show right now but it looks rather fun.

I was meaning to go and donate to them. Glad to see that they got the money that they were looking for. It's a very helpful series.

The Guess Who was pretty cool, I guess. American Woman is good. And didn't Randy Bachman start Bachman Turner Overdrive after leaving The Guess Who?

I can't wait to see the Wil Wheaton project, but I'm amazed it's on SYFY, they seem to be new show intolerant, and this is a lot of wheaton for them to swallow

Wheaton is just going to blow all that money on stupid looking sweaters.  People who donate money should know better.

And I always heard they were called something else originally.  They had a big hit with that name and then when it came time to release their second single, instead of their name, they wrote "Guess who?" on the label and everyone just thought that was the band name.

It may be an urban legend though

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Wil Wheaton project. His hosting of the Orphan Black talk show was so-so. I love TableTop, though. I'm really curious to check out the RPG show, too. Too bad it will be until fall before we get TableTop, and likely 2015 before the RPG show goes out.

The episode for Betrayal at House on the Hill is arguably one (two?) of the best in the whole series so far. The game sold so well it's out of print right now thanks to that episode. The music alone is incredibly atmospheric, and a good mix of banter and gameplay in the video.

Not a table top game, but there's a $7 game on Steam called Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator.  It's a 5 or 6 person coop game where each player takes on a different role on a spaceship and must cooperate to do anything (think Star Trek).  For example, one person is the captain, one person is communications, weapons, engineering, etc.

I haven't played it yet but it looks like a blast.  I'll probably get into it this weekend.  If anyone wants to play, PM me your steam info and I'll add you.

Very true, and excited for the RPG show, dying to know what system it will be (he's already said not D&D, and the show tends not to go for the "obvious" choice for games)

/would have sprung for the "play with them at SDCC" tier if I were rich

Hmmm.  Star Citizen has raised over $43mil.  A tad more than 1.4 mil.

I have played this on multiple occasions and it is awesome! I was at a Con in Arkansas last year and they had 2 ships setup on the same server. By 2am we had a drunk ship and a sober ship. Our drunk ship had been playing for hours and even though most of us rode the line between passed out and passing out we still did way better than them. All the Captain had to do was say "science. SCIENCE!! WHAT IS THEIR SHIELD FREQUENCY" And we would wake back up and steal all the kills.

I've got a bridge set up in my garage, but so far have only been able to play with a mix of kids and adults. Really looking forward to playing with adults only... soon.

This seems as good a place as any to plug Shut Up and Sit Down. TableTop is great for lets plays, to get an idea of how the game flows with a group of people playing, even if they don't always play it right(oh the nerd rage during their X-wing Miniatures episode...), but it's a bit lacking in any sort of criticism of the games they play. Which is fine, that's not their goal. But any game can possibly look fun when you're looking at the edited down sort of thing they do.

Shut Up and Sit Down is still entertaining(YMMV as they've got a bit of a quirky, British sense of humor), but rather than the 'Lets Play' type videos, which they do have a few of, they're primarily a review site. If you're interested in boardgames or tabletop games generally, check it out.

/ seriously, that X-wing episode of table top, soooo bad...
// Doing boost and missile attacks wrong was pretty bad, but completely flubbing the order of attack and defense die roles?

I've been avoiding the tablet for the captain - partly because I think it makes the captain less reliant on the crew and good communications; and partly because tablets won't handle mods.
