I'm not convinced it's even a problem, let alone a serious one.

Made some as-seen-on-tv bacon bowls on the weekend. Why, yes I am Canadian.

Those Canadians have a polite euphemism for everything.

We just got our food waste "shiat."

Okay.... THIS is a double-double.

www.eatgeekplay.com

what the fark do Canadians consider a double-double, since I don't think In-N=Out has expanded into Canada yet.

I read once that America throws away enough food to feed all of Canada.  That made me wonder why they even sell food in Canada when we could just open up the border at night and let the Canadians pick through our trash like racoons.

2014-05-13 01:44:55 PM
Waste is one of the primary destinations of all food, everywhere, for all time. We didn't have fridges/freezers until recently and rats used to eat a lot of your warehoused grain - anywhere it's still like that, well, it's still like that.

It really bothers you that your whole country is as relevant as a Dakota? What will the C-Daks call themselves after the hillbilly french secede? (Difficulty: "Paraguay" is already taken)

Just export the food waste to Texas.  Nobody'll notice the extra weight they'll put on.  Problem solved.

Amen. After the Beavertails place closed up in the Lonsdale Quay, a while back, the only place to get Beavertails is up a mountain. (unless you want an "elephant ear", but that's just blasphemous)

I'm going to Ottawa next month. Luckily they still have one in the Byward Market.

Poutine is already food waste.  It's a goddamn tragedy to subject perfectly good freedom fries to that sort of abuse.

A friend who moved to North Carolina for work also advised that ketchup in the USA is very different to Canadian ketchup.  He described American ketchup as 'very vinegary, basically a red mustard' while Canadian ketchup is much sweeter.

    Being poor, I don't waste food, I grow what I can in my garden and support local farmers and growers as much as I can. The garden gets all my organic waste which composts nicely into black gold.

/ simple....healthy....tasty....fresh.....no waste.....
// coffee crisp time!
